Stormalong Bay Pool Area at Yacht and Beach Club To Close For Five Months In 2025

For those familiar with the resorts at Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll know that a huge draw of Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club properties (located in the EPCOT Resort Area) is the huge outdoor water play area serving both resorts called Stormalong Bay.  If you’ve got plans to stay at the Yacht and Beach Club in 2025 then you’ll want to take note that this 3-acre water playground will be closing for a lengthy refurbishment of at least 5 months in 2025.

As you can see from the announcement below which can now be found on www.disneyworld.com, from January 2025 through May 2025 Stormalong Bay and the Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. 

So why is Disney giving us notice now for construction occurring in 2025? This is because the Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool are primary draws for people looking to stay at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. 

Stormalong Bay is almost like a small water park just for resort guests and features a life-size shipwreck, pools, and lagoons and spans over three acres! The area offers something for family members of all ages.  This includes 3 whirlpool spaces, a lazy river, an elevated tanning deck, and two kiddie pools (one featuring a miniature waterslide.)

It should be noted that Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are also home to three all-ages quiet pools that are expected to remain open during this closure. 

As of going to print, Disney has not said what changes will be made to Stormalong Bay other than routine maintenance. However, this is a story that we will continue to follow closely. Readers are encouraged to keep checking back with us for further news and updates!

Stormalong Bay Refurbishment Estimate Grows Longer

Disney is now estimating that refurbishment of the feature pool at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will last one month longer than originally projected. 

In August 2023, Walt Disney World revealed that the Stormalong Bay feature pool at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts would close for refurbishment from January to May, 2025 . That estimate has since been extended by a month, with the refurb now projected to last to the end of June 2025. 

Disney often closes small portions of the pool for refurbishment, particularly during the winter months. However this is the first time in more than a decade that the entire complex will close for up to a half-year. 

During the closure, the resort's three leisure pools will remain available to guests. This includes the  Dunes Cove Pool  located near the  Disney Vacation Club  villa wing, the  Tidal Pool  on the  Beach Club  side near the shores of  Crescent Lake  and the  Admiral Pool  over at  Disney's Yacht Club Resort . 

Walt Disney World recently announced that throughout 2025, all guests staying at Disney owned-and-operated resorts would receive complimentary admission to either Disney's Blizzard Beach or Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park on their arrival day. All Disney Vacation Club members qualify for this perk when using their points, including individuals booked at Disney's Beach Club Villas during the pool refurbishment.

Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool Set for Refurbishment in 2025

Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are set to undergo routine maintenance starting from January through June 2025. This temporary closure will allow for enhancements to these beloved water areas and ensure they continue to provide the best experiences for Members and Guests.

Disney stated in their announcement:

In an effort to continually enhance the Guest experience, we refresh our offerings from time to time. From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools. Disney Travel Agents

What’s Changing?

The refurbishment will address key areas within Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool. Guests may notice some construction work during daytime hours as refurbishment is ongoing.

Beach Club Swimming Alternatives

Wondering where to take a refreshing dip during this period? While Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool are being refreshed, guests are encouraged to make a splash at the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools.

While the refurbishment is happening, guests will have access to the other pools at the resorts. If you plan to stay at either resort soon, you have plenty of time before this refurbishment starts.

2024-2025 Hotel Construction & Refurbishments at Disney World

Hotel refurbishments, resort construction, and character-inspired makeovers continue at Walt Disney World through 2024 & 2025. This resource provides info on room renovations, what to avoid, where to book, and what to expect in terms of hotel work at Walt Disney World. ( Updated November 26, 2023 .)

Walt Disney World continues to undertake refurbishments as staffing shortages preclude full occupancy of the resorts. Consequently, there are a number of smaller-scale projects that take certain buildings or a portion of rooms out of commission as part of more-targeted, rolling refurbishments.

We do Walt Disney World monthly hotel stays, usually emphasizing resorts where there are new things, changes, or ongoing construction to see how that harms, improves, or otherwise impacts the guest experience. When booking a Walt Disney World vacation, we highly recommend taking into account recently-completed and ongoing construction projects at the various resorts, as these absolutely can impact the quality of your trip. Booking a hotel with a closed pool or construction noise and cranes right outside your window is obviously going to be a worse experience than a resort that just finished its big refurbishment and still has that fresh feeling and ‘new hotel’ smell.

Note that this does not include DVC villas if they do not impact the hotel side of a resort. For those projects, see our 2024 Disney Vacation Club Resort Refurbishments & Construction Timeline . That covers all of the room reimaginings at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and beyond that we just announced at the condo association meeting. Those projects also impact Boulder Ridge, Bay Lake Tower, and both Crescent Lake DVC resorts.

Suffice to say, a lot is happening on the hotel front at Walt Disney World. Let’s take a look at all of the current and upcoming major hotel projects that have the potential to impact guests…

Ongoing or Upcoming Hotel Refurbishments

All Star Movies  – While the room renovations at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort are now finished, more updates are expected in the next couple of years.

Looking way down the road to early 2025, the Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed for routine maintenance from January 2025 through April 2025. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, hotel guests are welcome to swim in the Duck Pond Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.

NOTE:  This refurbishment was previously scheduled for Winter 2024, but bumped to 2025. Just drawing your attention to that, as literally the only thing about the bulletin that has changed is the year, the months and all other details are the same. Just one full year later, which is a pretty big difference, but an easy one to miss!

Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach & Riviera Resorts  – Bad news, as the  Disney Skyliner Gondolas Close for Routine Refurbishment in Early 2024 . Closures will occur in phases from January 16-27, 2024.

This routine downtime of the “Most Magical Flight on Earth” affects all of the Skyliner routes and resorts. These gondolas service two Walt Disney World theme parks (Hollywood Studios and Epcot) plus four resorts (Art of Animation & Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, plus Riviera Resort & Caribbean Beach again) via 5 stations.

We strongly recommend switching resorts if you’re staying at a Skyliner hotel during those dates. As discussed in that article (link above), the Skyliner is  the  selling point of those resorts, and why they charge premium prices. We’d also recommend not booking any of those resorts in mid to late January 2025, as another Skyliner refurbishment is likely at that time.

All Star Sports – The room refurbishment at All Star Sports is now almost totally finished.

This wrapped up at most buildings by early this year, but they still haven’t started on Building 1 for some reason. No clue why–it would’ve been done by now if they stuck to the schedule.

Beach Club Resort & Villas – The soft goods refurbishment and lobby refresh of Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Villas is now finished. Not much changed–there’s new carpet in the hallways, and inside the room the carpet has been replaced by a laminate flooring.

There’s also new furniture–chairs and couch–as well as new curtains, Donald Duck wall art, and other refreshed surfaces. That’s all I noticed. These rooms were bland before, and they’re still pretty bland now–but minus carpet and plus better on-theme artwork.

With that said, a huge closure is on the horizon: Stormalong Bay Pool is Closing in 2025 for Refurbishment . From January 2025 through May 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools.

BoardWalk Inn  – This resort is current in the midst of a multi-year reimagining. No timeline has been given for when the work will end, but our expectation is mid-2024. The room renovations are now finished (see our Review, Photos & Videos of the New Rooms at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn ) and work is occurring along the BoardWalk itself.

Walt Disney World is also adding and changing elements of the beloved turn-of-the-century promenade and inside the Deluxe Resort, including a new lobby design, nearby coffee bar, delectable dining options, refreshed guest rooms, and more.

Inside Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, it’s difficult to discern whether work on the lobby is finished . Carousel Coffee has opened and Belle Vue Lounge has been refreshed, with both being done in half-measure. It seems that the same has also happened with the lobby, but it’s truly tough to tell. Very little changed.

The biggest project at the BoardWalk is the new Cake Bake Shop Restaurant will replace ESPN Club, and is slated to open in early 2024. (Judging by the actual pace of progress, it may slip into spring or even summer.) This isn’t the only new “restaurant” coming to this area: pickle-stuffed corn dogs (you read that correctly) will soon be coming to the BoardWalk courtesy of Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs.

Caribbean Beach  – The Pirate Rooms at Caribbean Beach Resort have been retired and have been all replaced by ‘Under the Sea’ Inspired Little Mermaid Rooms . Crews have since moved on to other buildings around Caribbean Beach and are doing soft goods refurbishments to those. We’re pretty sure this is also finished–we didn’t see any construction here in November 2023.

From January 2024 through April 2024, the Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, hotel guests are welcome to swim in any of the 5 leisure pools at Caribbean Beach Resort.

Fort Wilderness Campground – Walt Disney World announced  New DVC Cabins Coming to Fort Wilderness Campground . The proposed plans call for more than 350 new cabins to replace the existing cabins at the resort, turning the resort side of the campground into a Disney Vacation Club property. In so doing, a “collection of improvement projects” are underway at Fort Wilderness aimed at enhancing the guest experience, including proposed pool and walking trail improvements.

Work on the Disney Vacation Club cabins has not yet started, and the current cabins are still available to reserve through late 2024. This makes sense, as the current cabins were pre-fabricated off-site and installed unit-by-unit, not built on location. The same will almost certainly be true of the new cabins–it’ll be a matter of swapping out the old cabins for the new ones, which will likely occur in phases next year.

To prepare for the influx of DVC guest$, Walt Disney World reimagined the restaurants in Pioneer Hall . That work is now finished, and both Crockett’s Tavern and Trail’s End have reopened. The latter is now quick-service and a grab-and-go marketplace instead of sit-down restaurant.

Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – Disney Vacation Club overhauled the Big Pine Key building of hotel rooms at Walt Disney World’s flagship resort. This building has since reopened and the new rooms have debuted–see Grand New Rooms at Walt Disney World’s Flagship Resort for a look inside.

These reimagined rooms have since debuted on the regular resort side of the Grand Floridian, and all of the outlying buildings are now finished. Crews have now moved into the main lobby, which is being done in phases. Crews paused their work for the Christmas 2023 season, and we’re anticipating that they’ll resume in January 2024. How long it’ll take is anyone’s guess–it really depends upon how involved the project is. We’re guessing it’ll last for at least the first half of 2024.

We’re also guessing that 1900 Park Fare and the Grand Floridian Tea Room will not return until after the reimagining is finished. In a logical and ideal world, those venues would be reimagined alongside the lobby, and open in time for Spring Break 2024. At present, there’s no indication that’s the intent–no construction activity has been observed in or around either.

Grand Floridian will receive a substantial overhaul with “Enchanted Gardens” as the unifying visual style. The scope and scale are not yet known, but the most likely scenario is the main lobby receiving an aesthetic and new carpet comparable to the smaller outlying buildings. Polynesian Village Resort – Walt Disney World is building a new DVC tower at Polynesian Village Resort between the existing Polynesian longhouses and Wedding Pavilion, near the Grand Floridian.

In light of this, Walt Disney World’s official site has this message: “As we prepare for the proposed expansion at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you will see and hear construction at certain times of day. To minimize disruptions during your stay, activities that may create noise will not start earlier than 9 a.m.”

If you’re staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort anytime in the next 2 years, we’d recommend requesting a room that is  not  in the Aotearoa, Fiji, or Tuvalu longhouses. Those buildings are adjacent to the construction site, and the only ones that should be impacted in any material way. The DVC tower construction is visible from other locations in the resort, but the impact is otherwise minor.

Actually, we recommend avoiding the Polynesian completely for the next year. As explained in Worst Hotels at Walt Disney World for 2024 , the construction impact will be ongoing and it’s likely that smaller projects will be undertaken in addition to what’s already been announced to prepare the resort infrastructure for the tower and its added DVC guests.

Prior to this tower, work wrapped up on the Great Ceremonial House, porte-cochère, new monorail station, and gardens. Room refurbishments were also part of the Poly’s overhaul and those are now finished. Port Orleans French Quarter  – From January 2024 through April 2024, the Doubloon Lagoon pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter will be closed for routine maintenance.

Guests may see or hear construction work during day time hours. During this time, hotel patrons are welcome to swim in the Ol’ Man Island pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. (That’s about a 10-15 minute walk from Port Orleans French Quarter.)

Yacht Club Resort  – No room refurbishments or common area construction scheduled in 2024.

However, the same Stormalong Bay Pool closure that’ll impact Beach Club will impact Yacht Club in 2025. We’d avoid staying at both resorts during that project unless  significant  discounts are offered. That’s one of the main selling points of these hotels, and its ‘value’ is built into room rates.

hey tom, what would be your advice if budget is somewhat a consideration. book 4 nights in march at a disney value hotel, or about 100 dollars more a night, and stay at sapphire falls? (of which i have done in the past at sapphire falls, and loved it)

Disney’s yacht & beach club pools closing for refurb in 2025.

Walt Disney World has announced that from January 2025 through May 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. They’ve advised that guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours.

Stormalong Bay remains one of the most popular pools at the Walt Disney World Resort due to its lazy river and sandy bottom. We love that Disney has given plenty of notice as they refresh their offerings from time to time.

During this closure, guests are able to use the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort is currently under an extensive 11 month exterior refurbishment with paint work taking place across the resort.

Crews are currently working across the area of the resort facing the feature pool area using high lifts and scaffolding.

Work is taking place between 9am and 5pm and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2022.

Ride, Restaurant, and Resort Closures and Construction at Walt Disney World

You may already be aware of several factors that go into planning a Walt Disney World vacation . You’ve likely considered things like the time of year you’d like to visit , which Resort hotel you might stay at , and — most of all — which attractions you’d like to ride in the four Disney World theme parks: Magic Kingdom , EPCOT ,  Disney’s Hollywood Studios , and  Disney’s Animal Kingdom !

But there’s something you may not have considered: REFURBISHMENTS and CONSTRUCTION.

From classic rides that have been running since Disney World’s DAY ONE to behind-the-scenes work on upcoming NEW experiences , several locations around the Resort are often receiving a little TLC or even undergoing major construction “for your future enjoyment!”

While the results are usually pretty terrific, some refurbishments may affect your vacation in unexpected ways . What if one of your must-do attractions is under wraps for a little while? Or maybe a major project is in the works at your chosen Resort?

That’s why we’re offering this resource so you can be informed of current, ongoing, and upcoming refurbishments and construction around Walt Disney World .

Magic Kingdom

Current closures and construction.

• Splash Mountain is — as of January 23, 2023 — CLOSED PERMANENTLY. The ride is being transformed into a  Princess and the Frog -themed attraction ! Get ready for  Tiana’s Bayou Adventure  to open   in SUMMER 2024 !

• A dedicated  Festival area  is coming to  Disney World’s EPCOT   in 2024 to serve as the new “home base” for EPCOT’s seasonal Festivals  and live events !  CommuniCore Hall  and  CommuniCore Plaza  will be housed in  EPCOT’s World Celebration , bringing EPCOT International Festivals “to the center of Walt Disney World,” according to Disney. CommuniCore Plaza  will provide an  outdoor space where guests can come to relax and experience all that the Festivals have to offer. CommuniCore Hall  will be housed within the plaza, and will be the  first fully-purpose built structure in Festival programing!  Designed with flexibility in mind, this hall will be able to  host a wide variety of experiences with food, art, live music, and more. 
• As part of CommuniCore Hall, there will also be  a new location  in EPCOT called “Mickey and Friends” where you can  meet some of your favorite Disney characters !

• Frozen Ever After – – Closing on November 2nd, 2024; Anticipated reopening date: November 7th, 2024

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Current closures.

• “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Fall 2024! This new show will premiere at the Animation Courtyard theater , which was the location for  the now permanently closed Voyage of The Little Mermaid show.
• Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster — Closed January 8, 2024; Anticipated reopening: Summer 2024

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Upcoming closures.

• It’s Tough To Be a Bug — This attraction, housed in Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life, will receive a Zootopia-themed makeover at a time to-be-announced.

Disney World Water Parks

• In recent years, Disney has only been operating one water park at a time. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is currently open , and therefore Blizzard Beach is closed for the season.

Disney’s All-Star Resorts

• The  Fantasia Pool  at  Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed from January 2025 to April 2025. While it’s closed, guests can swim in the Duck Pond Pool (as well as the feature pools at the neighboring All-Star Resort hotels).

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

• BIG changes are coming to Disney’s BoardWalk! A  new table service restaurant with “storybook sweet treats and dreamy desserts” is headed to the BoardWalk .   The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers ,  which is expected to open in early 2024, will offer both savory and sweet options.

Disney’s caribbean beach resort.

• The Calypso  vibes at the  old Spanish citadel  will temporarily be unavailable in early  2024 . The  Fuentes del Morro Pool  at  Caribbean Beach is undergoing routine maintenance from January 2024 through late March 2024 . During this closure, guests are invited to swim in any of the  5 leisure pools found at this hotel.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

Refurbishments.

• Disney Vacation Club  has announced its plan to  redesign the cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground . Ultimately, more than 350 refreshed cabins to replace the existing cabins at the resort . Although the new cabins will be part of the Disney Vacation Club resort lineup,  the proposed cabins will be open for reservations to all guests, including those who are not Disney Vacation Club Members . So far, the concept art shows  modern cabins  “inspired by the resort’s idyllic setting, while also paying homage to the resort’s unique culture and heritage through the magic of Disney storytelling,” per Disney. These  refreshed cabins will make their debuts starting on July 1st !  The opening will take place in phases — the first loop will open on July 1st, and the second will follow later in the month. More will continue to open throughout the year.

Disney’s grand floridian resort & spa.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has undergone a LOT of changes in recent years with the opening of  new Disney Vacation Club villas , an  updated  Narcoossee’s  restaurant, and changes at  Citricos  and  Victoria & Albert’s,  too. And  the renovations continue ! The Disney World website does warn that the hotel “is currently undergoing refurbishment. Guests will be able to see and hear construction around the resort – including the lobby – during daytime hours .” But, they note that “Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available.”

Ultimately,  the lobby itself will also receive its own refurbishment . Disney has shared that the new look  “will maintain the classic theming [guests] know and love  with some  fresh new enhancements.”

Additionally, 1900 Park Fare  will  reopen on April 10th, 2024!  This restaurant, which is located in  Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort , is  one of a few that has yet to reopen  since the temporary closure of Walt Disney World Resort in 2020.

When it reopens, it will do so with  an entirely new Character Dining experience !  Disney has shared that During a  buffet-style Breakfast and Dinner , guests will enjoy tableside visits by  characters including  Aladdin (in his Prince Ali look), Cinderella, Mirabel and Tiana in her new look for  Tiana’s Bayou Adventure  “as they celebrate the power of a wish.”

Disney’s polynesian village and resort.

• Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort  — While the Resort remains open to guests, areas are currently being renovated to include new Disney Vacation Club Villas , restaurants , and even  new recreation offerings ! The Disney Vacation Club Villas are expected to open in late 2024 .

• One immediate affect of this construction is that the walkway between the Polynesian and Grand Floridian is currently closed . Guests will need to take the Monorail in the meantime.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter

• Over at  Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter, guests are unable to access the Doubloon Lagoon Pool  from January 2024 to April 2024. The pool is undergoing routine maintenance during the closure. Instead, guests will still be able to take a dip into Ol’ Man Island Pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside.

Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts

Upcoming refurbishment.

• From January 2025 to May 2025 , Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool   will be CLOSED  at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club. This closure is due to routine maintenance and guests staying at those resorts may hear construction noises during the daytime . During the closure, guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools.

Beyond Walt Disney World

Brightline rail service train station near disney world.

Brightline (which is being renamed Virgin Trains USA) is currently constructing rails to ultimately provide near-high-speed rail service from Orlando International Airport (MCO) all the way down to Miami, Florida. Previously, a station was planned to carry guests to Disney World at a stop on the Resort’s property , connecting Disney Springs directly to Orlando International Airport.

However, in June 2022 it was revealed that the plan for the Disney Springs station has been canceled . That said, Brightline has confirmed that  they will still build a train stop near Disney Springs , although it will not actually be located on Disney World property. So, guests will be able to get close to Disney World by using the Brightline train once construction is complete.

The 37,350-square foot station at the Orlando Airport has reached completion , though the completion of the station and the start of passenger service “are on separate timelines.” Plans are moving forward with the Sunshine Corridor  expansion as well, which will connect even more stations around greater Orlando,  including a possible stop  near  Disney World  and even an expansion to Tampa.

Pools at Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Stormalong bay.

3 Leisure Pools

Looking for a more peaceful swimming experience? Choose from 3 leisure pools at Disney's Beach and Yacht Club Resorts.

Disney's Beach Club Resort pool is located in the garden area on the far end of the resort facing Crescent Lake. Disney's Yacht Club Resort pool can be found in its own tranquil garden area. A third pool is privately located in the Disney's Beach Club Villas ; although it is situated for the convenience of Beach Club Villas Guests, Guests of Disney’s Yacht Club Resort are welcome to enjoy it. All pools include steaming whirlpool spas.

The Four Pools at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club (Photos, Hours, and Details)

When it comes to the pools at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts, you’ve got options. Four pools are available between the resorts. However, most guests will prefer the resort’s feature pool, Stormalong Bay. It’s no secret that we consider it the best hotel pool at Walt Disney World .

However, those wanting to enjoy a peaceful spot at the pool or take a quick swim near their room will want to be aware of the resort’s other options. For instance, you might have a day when you want to enjoy the pool and get laundry done simultaneously. Or you might wake up early one morning and have a few minutes to enjoy the quiet pool before the main pool opens. If so, you’ll have options.

Below, we’ll discuss each of the quiet and feature pools at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club. We’ll review their location, pool hours, and other amenities you’ll want to know beforehand.

Major Refurbishment Note: From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools. (This was originally scheduled to end in May of 2025.)

As mentioned above, Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club has four swimming pools. They are as follows:

Stormalong Bay

Dunes cove pool.

• Admiral’s Pool

We’ll preview each pool further below.

Pool Hours at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club

During our visit, pool hours at Stormalong Bay were between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. However, hours are subject to change. During the summer months until Labor Day, the hours are usually extended one hour until 11:00 p.m.

Quiet pool hours were posted during our last stay from 7:00 a.m. through 11:00 p.m. These pool hours are pretty consistent throughout the year. However, you’ll want to know that the quiet pools at Beach and Yacht Club do not have lifeguards or other attendants.

Are the Pools Heated?

Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club pools are heated to 82 degrees. So, in the event of cooler weather, they usually remain open. However, if the outside temperature drops to around 50 degrees or lower, the pools will close until warmer temperatures return.

Complimentary Towels and Life Jackets

Complimentary towels are provided at each pool at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club, so you can use the extra room in your suitcase for something else.

Life jackets are also provided at each resort pool. They come in a wide range of sizes.

Mobility Lifts

Pool lifts are available for guests with disabilities or limited mobility. Here is a photo of the lift at the Beach Club’s Tidal Pool.

Changing Areas

Each of the resort’s pools has a nearby restroom. However, Stormalong Bay has an area with dedicated showers, a room to change, toiletries, and towels. If you find this area busy, you can use the shower inside the resort’s gym. The gym is adjacent to the pool, and I don’t think most people know this extra set of showers exists.

Stormalong Bay is more of a water park than a pool. It’s so large it would be difficult to photograph in its entirety unless you had an aerial view.

Most guests (including my family) stay at Disney’s Beach or Yacht Club because of Stormalong Bay. Most of our days are spent relaxing at the pool. However, we do visit the parks for entertainment in the evenings.

Toward one end, a wading pool features a large sandbar in the center of it. Smaller children can spend hours digging in the sand and enjoying this pool area.

Another kiddie pool is available inside the shipwreck, across the walkway from Stormalong Bay. The ship also serves as the entrance to the pool’s water slide. The photo below shows where the tube slide begins at the top of the ship’s mast.

Stormalong Bay has three hot tubs scattered throughout the pool area.

Guests can take in scenic views of Disney’s Boardwalk across the lake from some places around the pool. Stormalong Bay has plenty of seating. But be warned, the good seats are often taken early. During our stay at the Yacht Club this summer, I waited in line for the pool to open each morning to get a table and chairs in the shade. Places in the shade are pretty limited.

Cabana rentals can be reserved up to 60 days in advance, but they sell out quickly. If you want to learn more, we have a review of renting a cabana at the Beach Club . We also have a complete guide for Stormalong Bay that includes photos and videos of every pool feature. If you plan to spend some time at this pool, it has some tips that will likely be useful.

Tidal Pool at Disney’s Beach Club

Disney’s Beach Club has two additional quiet pools. The Tidal Pool sits on the front side of Disney’s Beach Club. It is the smallest of the three quiet pools between the resorts. While this pool sits near the walkway to Epcot, a laundry room sits on one end, blocking the view. Rooms on the other three sides surround the pool.

To access this pool, take the main hallway off the resort’s lobby. Follow the signs that say pool, and after a few turns, you’ll reach a doorway leading out to the pool. You can’t miss it.

This pool is often the least busiest of the three quiet pools. However, if you’re visiting when the weather is warm, don’t be surprised to find a reasonable number of guests at all the pools.

Here is the laundry room by the pool. We have a separate article with the locations for all the laundry rooms at Disney’s Beach Club .

Next, the Dunes Cove Pool is located near the back of the resort. This is the formal pool for the Beach Club Villas. The buildings in this wing are mint green compared to the blue of Disney’s Beach Club.

While the Dunes Cove Pool is exclusive to guests staying in the Beach Club Villas, resort guests can access it. However, this pool area will likely be out of the way and is often busy.

This pool was recently completely resurfaced. We stopped in on a chilly day to check out the updates. Everything looked fresh and new.

Here are a few tables with chairs and loungers around the pool.

Admiral Pool at Disney’s Yacht Club

At Disney’s Yacht Club, guests have access to the Admiral Pool. If you take the hallway off the lobby and pass The Marketplace at Ale and Compass, it will dead end at doors that lead to the Admiral Pool. It’s a peaceful pool area surrounded by trees on one side.

This pool is a little off the beaten path. If your room doesn’t face it, you might not know it was there.

All the quiet pools have a maximum depth of 4’3″. However, Stormalong Bay has some areas that get as deep as 8′.

A hot tub is available on the far end of the pool.

You’ll have two options if you want to enjoy a meal or cocktail at the pool. You can order something and take it to the pool of your choice. Or you can visit Stormalong Bay and order from the poolside bar and grill, Hurricane Hannas.

During busier times, servers wait on guests at the pool deck. However, this often takes a while because only a few servers wait on the entire pool area. On my last visit, a server left us a menu. It was over 30 minutes before he returned to our area. While it wasn’t his fault, if you want something quickly, you are probably better off ordering it at the location.

We like placing a mobile order at Ale and Compass and bringing it to the pool. The food is good quality and reasonably priced, and if you want something small, you can order something from the kids’ menu.

If you purchase a Rapid Fill mug during your stay, you’ll want to be aware that Hurricane Hannas has a beverage refill station. You can refill your mug at the pool.

Additionally, Beaches and Cream, an ice cream shop, sits immediately behind the pool area. They do not do mobile orders but have a walk-up window where guests can order various ice cream treats. If you want to dine here, you’ll need to get a reservation or join their walk-up list when available.

In addition to the pools, the Beach and Yacht Club have a variety of other recreational activities. The Beach Club has a sand volleyball court near the lobby entrance.

The Yacht Club has a tennis court next to the Admiral Pool. Both resorts share a fully equipped gym on the walkway behind Stormalong Bay.

Or you might prefer to lounge on the Beach while the children play in the sand.

Final Thoughts

We love all the pools at Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club. But it’s hard to deny that Stormalong Bay has a special place in our hearts. It’s going to be tough to beat!

On a side note, I would caution that some guests are overwhelmed by the large pool area. So, if you have children of an age where you’ll need to keep an eye on them at all times, you might not enjoy your pool time. When my niece was younger, we camped out at the sand bar pool. It’s more of a wading pool than anything. She was content to dig in the sand all day. So I never had to worry about her wandering off into other pool areas.

That said, make sure to pack a good book (hopefully), find a spot in the full sun or shade, and relax the day away. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

You might even enjoy a little pool-hopping between the resort’s quiet and feature pools throughout your trip. It’s your vacation, so enjoy what you like the most. These special times don’t come often enough for most of us.

Take a sneak peek at the biggest and most expensive boats at 2024's Palm Beach yacht show

The Palm Beach International Boat Show kicks off later this week.

Eight megayachts are expected to be on display for would-be buyers and charter customers.

These are the show's biggest yachts — and how many millions of dollars they are going for.

The Palm Beach International Boat Show — the yacht world's flashiest event stateside — is returning this year with over 800 boats for both deep-pocked potential owners and window shoppers to peruse.

While it's impossible to know what exactly will be on display until the show begins on Thursday, it's expected that eight megayachts — generally defined as ships over 60 meters long — will be docked at the show and at nearby marinas like the Rybovich Marina in the ritzy Florida town.

Some of these are for sale at eye-popping prices, but others are available to if in case you fancy living like a billionaire for a week or two this summer (and if you have six figures to spare on a vacation).

These are the eight biggest yachts that will be at the Palm Beach International Boat Show and nearby marinas, in size order.

Nero: 90.1 meters

Price: From $497,000 a week (charter) Standout features: Pizza ovens, beauty salon, massage room, resistance pool

Reportedly owned by Irish billionaire Denis O'Brien, Nero is modeled after J.P. Morgan's 1930s ship , and was built in 2007 and updated in 2021.

She now boasts a gym on her sundeck with multiple cardio machines and a beauty salon, and has an on-board beautician for manicure, pedicure, hair, and massage needs. There's also an upgraded movie theater, two new pizza ovens, and both a pool and a jacuzzi.

For those who want to go overboard, she has more than a dozen toys, including a waterslide, Jet Ski, and flyboard.

Victorious: 85 meters

Price: From $876,600 a week in the summer and $950,000 a week in the winter Standout features: Hammam (Turkish bath), wine cellar, wood-burning fireplace, children's playroom

Victorious brings a party vibe to the yacht show. With a beach club on board, a wine cellar, a cigar clubroom , multiple bars, and a lounge with a piano, the vessel is made for entertaining. Plus, there's a playroom and movie theater to entertain the kids.

For tamer charter clients, Victorious has a suite of wellness features such as a gym, massage room, beauty salon and hammam, or Turkish bath — perhaps a custom request of her owner, Turkish businessman Vural Ak.

She also boasts a treasure trove of water toys, including Jet Skis, jetsurfs, inflatable kayaks, and scuba equipment.

Casino Royale: 72 meters

Price: TBD Special Features: Infinity pool, helipad, private jacuzzi

Purchased and refitted by car dealer magnate John Staluppi last year, Casino Royale is the latest of his James Bond-inspired yachts (he's also owned an Octopussy and a Skyfall, among others).

Casino Royale has a helipad that turns into a dancefloor, an infinity pool, and a wellness center with a gym and sauna. The owner's cabin has its own deck, which features a private bar and jacuzzi.

However, the boat's price isn't listed, and while she's not necessarily officially for sale, that might change depending on who's prepared to buy, Mr. Bond.

Talisman C: 70.6 meters

Price: $60 million (or from $567,000 a week to charter) Special features: Massage and beauty room, private library

Likely the largest yacht for sale (not just charter) at the show, the Talisman C is a 2011 six-bedroom boat. The owner's cabin comes with an en suite bathroom, dressing room, private library, and crystal chandeliers.

Amenities include a gym, a beauty room, oversized jacuzzi, and a fully equipped bar. Her crew of 19 includes a trained masseuse, and the toy room comes equipped with a wakeboard, eFoil , and WaveRunners.

Joy: 70 meters

Price: From $650,000 a week Special features: Disco club, basketball court, onboard fitness instructor

Superyacht Joy testifies to the fact that owners want as many on-board experiences as they can get.

There's an expansive suite of fitness features, including a basketball court (don't shoot that hoop too hard!), a personal trainer on staff, boxing equipment, and a handful of machines. For post-workout winddowns, there's a spa with a steam room and onboard masseuse. And for entertainment, there's both an outdoor and indoor cinema, and a disco club.

Triumph: 65.4 meters

Price: From $707,600 a week in the summer and $650,000 a week in the winter Special features: Sauna, helipad, banana boat

This 2021 superyacht is named after Triumph motorcycles — a reported favorite of her rumored owner, British businessman Chris Dawson — and even has one on display as an art piece in the upper deck's lounge. The primary suite is 1,400 square feet and has its own study , and there's a sauna, an indoor-outdoor gym, a helipad, and a massage room spread among her six decks.

She boasts an "armada of water toys," including two kinds of Jet Skis, electric water bikes, and a banana boat.

Seanna: 64.5 meters

Price: $54,000,000 (or from $462,000 a week to charter) Special features: marble foyer, movie room, sundeck pool

The recently refurbished Seanna is available for sale and charter.

Her indoor-outdoor gym is on sea level so that passengers can take a dip after a session with the onboard personal trainer. There's also a sundeck pool, a helipad, a two-room massage facility, and, for the more cerebral guests, a library with an electric fireplace.

There are a number of toys on board, including a popular water trampoline and two WaveRunners.

Come Together: 60 meters

Price: $65,000,000 Special Features: DJ and videographer on board, ice bath, sauna

Next-to-new yacht Come Together is looking for a new owner after doing charters during the 2023 season.

The Beatles' influence is evident beyond the yacht's name, with guitars dotting the sky lounge and a crewmember who doubles as a DJ. There's also an outdoor cinema and bar for entertainment and an ice bath and sauna for the day after the party. The owner's suite has a private study and lounge, and each guest cabin has its own ensuite.

The sale includes a number of toys, like Jet Skis, kayaks, and Seabobs.
