What Happened Between Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux And Dani Soares On Below Deck Sailing Yacht?

Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux and Dani Soares' boatmance on Season 2 of "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" was one of the messiest in "Below Deck" history. The two met during their first and only season and after some flirting, they took their relationship to the next level, per Screen Rant . Soares, who is eight years older than Cerza-Lanaux, was clear that she wanted something serious and even hinted to him about having a baby together, via Us Weekly . "I want to have babies, I want to get married. Do you want to do that? Let's have sex tonight. And if I get pregnant? That's God's will," she told Cerza-Lanaux in an episode.

Cerza-Lanaux and Soares left "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" Season 2 together and it looked as if they were ready to take their romance onto land. Fans were curious to know if their relationship survived after the show. Cerza-Lanaux told Meaww , "Me and Dani aboard Parsifal found an escape you could say in one another ... I think the viewers are going to see how things pan out between me and Dani really soon so I don't want to spill the beans yet, you guys just have to stay tuned." In April 2021, Soares revealed on Instagram that she was pregnant and many wondered if Cerza-Lanaux was the father , which she surprisingly revealed during the Season 2 reunion.

Dani Soares named Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux as the father of her baby

During the "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" Season 2 reunion, Dani Soares stated that Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux was indeed the father of her baby. "Well, let's put it this way, this baby was made during the season while we had cameras 24/7 with us and I only slept with one guy," Soares stated, via ET . She then told host Andy Cohen that Cerza-Lanaux didn't think the baby was his and said that he "doesn't want to have anything to do with it." Soares read a text from him: "Don't go around telling people I'm the dad of this child. And I want a DNA test."

In a separate conversation with Andy Cohen during the reunion, Cerza-Lanaux stated that he wanted to be involved in the baby's life and would even move to Australia where Soares lives, per Us Weekly . In May 2021, Soares announced the arrival of her baby girl on Instagram . "She is here. She is perfect. And we trying to figure this thing out."

The following June, Cerza-Lanaux posted on Instagram , "There's a lot of gossip about my social media silence so I think it's time to clear the air ... I am working on a yacht in Central America and heartbroken to have to hear about the baby's birth on social media and read headlines ... All I can say is if she's mine, I want to be involved 100%." Suffice it to say, fans were not happy with the deckhand.

Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux finally took a paternity test

Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux angered fans yet again when he posted a baby picture of himself on Instagram and made excuses for why he didn't want to take a paternity test. In January 2022, he finally confirmed that he was the father of Dani Soares' baby. "I can't let 2022 go any further without sharing some beautiful news. An international DNA test that was done awhile ago was no small feat. I'm happy and proud to say Sweet and beautiful Lilly rose is my daughter," he wrote on Instagram . He went on to say that he and Soares had been talking and he had every intention of being in his daughter's life.

Unfortunately, it seems as if Cerza-Lanaux did not step up to the plate after the paternity reveal. His "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" castmates expressed their disappointment in him. "She has not received a single piece of financial, let alone moral, support from JL. His deceptive Instagram post was an absolutely false portrayal of his and her relationship as 'coparents,'" Colin MacRae told Us Weekly . Gary King also alleged that Cerza-Lanaux was an absent father. "It's all good in saying stuff on social media but words are completely different to actions and if his actions spoke louder than his words, then it would be different, but at the moment they're not."

As of now, Soares is raising Lilly in Australia as a single mother while Cerza-Lanaux is living his best life traveling the world, per his Instagram .

In a Reddit AMA , a producer for the show also explained that maintaining safety protocols (which likely included regular Covid testing) was key in filming this season.

Colin Macrae

Colin Macrae might serve as the Chief Engineer aboard the Parsifal III, however, when it comes to the inner workings of his relationship, things aren’t as black and white. Despite gushing over his relationship with Martina Alvarez last summer, Macrae revealed that he and Martina have officially parted ways. “Unfortunately my relationship with Martina came to an end a couple of months ago,” Colin captioned his most recent YouTube video . Although his romance is no more, Colin remains optimistic for what’s to come as he embarks on a “fresh start” in none other than Panama. Colin has also continued his efforts in creating content online documenting his many adventures in Linton Bay, Panama , where he’s resided over the course of the last few months.

Glenn Shephard

Captain Glenn Shephard is back and better than ever! The sailboat captain may only have 2 seasons of Below Deck under his belt, but his 20 years of experience certainly make him a notable addition to the Bravo family. Since his summer in Croatia last year, Gl enn has since moved to Spain , which Shephard has deemed his new “happy place.” While becoming a Bravo-lebrity can go to one’s head, Glenn has remained modest when it comes to his newfound fame. The star now offers Zoom sessions with fans of the show, where he dishes on behind-the-scenes details all while sipping cocktails on the Spanish coast.

First Officer Gary King walked away from his very first season on Below Deck Sailing Yacht feeling nothing but grateful. “Reminiscing about the last 6 weeks that have just flown by. I learned lessons that I’ll carry for life,” Gary wrote on Instagram . While fans have been rooting for him and fellow stewardess, Alli Dore to set sails on a possible romance, it appears as King has been flying solo since the series ended. Natasha De Bourg

The Michelin-star chef has been tuning in this season from her home in the Bahamas, and, well, she hasn't taken to it favorably. The star has posted a series of pics on her Instagram detailing her frustrations with herself on the show, claiming that she is “human and humans are imperfect.” Luckily for Natasha, her friendship with both Dani and Alli has blossomed immensely since wrapping up, and the two have been a huge support for Natasha as she cruises through these waves of criticism.

Daisy Kelliher

Being the Chief Stewardess on any yacht is no easy feat, and Daisy Kelliher is certainly feeling the burn. Following her time at sea in Croatia, Daisy, unfortunately, broke her wrist and found herself back home with mom and dad in Ireland . During lockdown, Daisy accepted a job in Antigua two months later, however, due to the current situation, her efforts at finding adventure fell flat. “I had completely lost myself,” Daisy captioned her photo on Instagram , revealing she began pushing friends away and entered a dark space. Luckily for the Below Deck star, she feels like herself again and is set to start a new job. During a live chat, Daisy revealed to co-star, Sydney Zaruba that she is most likely headed back to Europe, although she’s left much of what she’ll be doing a mystery.

Dani Soares

Dani Soares soared to being a fan favorite this current season and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Soares, who reigns all the way from Brazil, has gone on to make quite a name for herself since her summer in Croatia. The star currently resides in Sydney, Australia where she is expecting her very first child. Dani revealed the news on social media back in April, however, both her due date and daddy status remain unknown. Although fans have inquired who the father is, Soares made it clear that it isn’t “anybody’s business.” As she embarks on her journey towards motherhood, Dani is currently working as a beauty therapist in the land down under all while taking in her recent rise to fame.

Alli Dore is the third stewardess to join the hit Bravo series, and boy are we glad she did. After wrapping up her summer in Croatia, Alli returned home to Australia, where she was born and raised. Her love for boating didn’t stop when the summer did, as she went on to spend her time in the Whitsundays Islands. As for Alli’s personal life, the star made an appearance on the Unpopular podcast where she revealed that she is pansexual. [I am] “attracted to people’s aura,” she revealed. Alli has gone on to start her very own IGTV series called Pita Party , which she stars in alongside Sailing Yacht co-stars, Daisy and Dani.

Sydney Zaruba

Sydney Zaruba found herself in quite the love triangle last summer in Croatia, but today, she is all about keeping her inner circle small. Sydney, who was born and raised in Florida, moved on over to the stunning island of Mallorca, Spain where she currently works on a 42-meter sailing yacht! This is nothing new for Sydney; considering her experience on Below Deck and, of course, her long history of sailing with her family. In addition to being at sea, Sydney decided to become a travel agent with Explorateur Travel. While the cast of Sailing Yacht has gone their separate ways since the summer ended, Sydney still managed to bump into none other than Captain Glenn on the streets of Palma.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

Jean-Luc may be the youngest Below Deck crew member but he certainly makes up for it in height? Following his summer working on the Parsifal III, Jean-Luc traveled to Mallorca, Spain, an idea many of his co-stars had as well. Shortly after, the 25-year-old made his way on over to Costa Rica , which he’s called home for the last several months. Despite the remarkable views, Jean-Luc is entering some rocky waters as a plethora of rumors have surfaced questioning his role in Dani Soares’ pregnancy. Not only have fans been flooding his social media with questions concerning whether he’s the father or not, but fellow charter guest, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow also went on to add fuel to the fire. In an Instagram video posted back in April, Barrie claimed that Jean-Luc “was too busy getting the other one [Dani] pregnant … He’s gonna be a daddy,” he said. While Dani laughed off the comment, Jean-Luc has yet to address the rumors.

‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ Season 2 Reunion Revelations: Dani’s Pregnancy, Gary’s Love Triangle and More

Just the beginning! The Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast virtually came together to break down everything that happened during the show’s second season — and nothing was off-limits.

During part one of the reunion on Monday, June 21, Glenn Shephard , Colin Macrae , Gary King , Natasha De Bourg , Daisy Kelliher , Dani Soares , Alli Dore and Sydney Zaruba returned to reflect on their highs and lows.

Deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux , who had some big questions to answer about his relationship with Dani since the season wrapped , was noticeably absent. However, host Andy Cohen confirmed that Jean-Luc did a separate interview for the reunion where he addressed the speculation that he’s the father of Dani’s baby .

“If that is my child, I want everything and anything to do with that child’s life,” Jean-Luc said in a preview for part two of the reunion, set to air on June 22.

Prior to the reunion, Jean-Luc took to social media to finally respond to fan’s theories about his relationship with Dani, who welcomed her first child in May.

“There’s a lot of gossip about my social media silence so I think it’s time to clear the air. While others are off chasing their 15 minutes of fame, I am working on a yacht in Central America,” he wrote via Instagram on Friday, June 18. “[I’m] heartbroken to have to hear about the baby’s birth on social media and read headlines, like, ‘Dani Soares Says Her Baby’s Father Doesn’t Want Anything to Do With It.’ All I can say is if it’s mine, I want to be involved 100 [percent].”

Jean-Luc continued: “As someone who grew up with parents who weren’t together, I wouldn’t wish that on any child. Not looking for a pity party. Just want everyone to know how strongly I feel about this, especially the haters who are so sure I am neglecting my responsibility. No one wants to know more than me if this is my baby girl!”

Many members of the Below Deck universe quickly responded to the post and called out Jean-Luc for not doing the right thing, including costar Sydney, who asked, “What is wrong with you?!”

“Don’t play the innocent victim here JL. Man the fuk [sic] up,” Colin added in the comments.

Season 2 chef Natasha added: “I’m sorry JL but sounds like a pity party to me. Why didn’t you reach out 9 months ago ??? No woman deserves to be treated the way you treated Danny [sic]”

The Crew's Thoughts on Jean-Luc's Work Ethic

The Below Deck stars didn't hold back when they spoke about the deckhand’s absent approach to his job, with chief stew Daisy referring to Jean-Luc as "absolutely moronic" while explaining why she refused to let Dani take the blame for Jean-Luc not completing his duties during their night shifts.

Colin also opened up about his relationship with Jean-Luc throughout the season, some of which fans didn't get to see. 

"I didn't specifically get on with J.L. from the start, we didn't click. But I felt like he kind of didn't want to take instructions from Gary or myself sometimes," the chief engineer said. "That was just his attitude towards work." 

Captain Glenn, who applauded Sydney for her hard work in comparison, added: "He just didn't get the urgency of what is going on."

Gary's Treatment of the Women

In response to a fan question about him "being a twat to basically all the women on the boat," Gary admitted that he did feel badly about his behavior . Shortly after, all the women except Natasha raised their hand when they were asked if they felt like the bosun didn't always treat them well.

Daisy specifically called out Gary earlier in the reunion episode for the way he spoke about her when she wasn't around. "You clearly also hated me and thought that I was a giant bitch," she revealed.

Gary, for his part, clarified: "I may have said you were acting bitchy, I never said you're a bitch.”

Dani and Her Castmates Address Her Baby's Paternity

After Dani shared that Jean-Luc did not want to be involved in her pregnancy, her costars had plenty to say about the deckhand's reaction.

"She's working so hard. She's doing 12-hour days. She's trying to get herself prepared as best as she can. And it is incredibly disgusting and frustrating that [Jean-Luc] won't even acknowledge the situation," Alli responded. "My heart breaks for Dani but she is so strong. I know that she can do this without him and will be better off."

Meanwhile, Gary claimed that Jean-Luc "does not have a spine."

"For the little respect that I had for him, that's gone out the window," he added.

Gary Had a Girlfriend

Alli dropped the bombshell that Gary had a girlfriend when he joined the boat during part two of the Below Deck reunion.

"We were in a very complicated relationship. I hadn't seen her for eight months prior to me coming on the show. Not seeing someone for eight months and growing apart in those months ... do we put a label on that? No," Gary explained after the big reveal.

For Alli, this was a major reason why she felt like it wasn't fair for Sydney to be so mad about their situation with Gary.  

"I did everything I could to be respectful in a situation but at the end of the day, when you sleep with someone when they are in a relationship, I feel like that voids you being able to treat me the way you treated me," Alli told Sydney.

Another Below Deck Baby

The former stew, who confirmed the news on social media before part one of the reunion aired , revealed that she was expecting a baby.

"Dani and I are pregnant at the same time. It's so cool!" Alli gushed about her exciting news.

Gary admitted that he didn't know his ex was pregnant, but said that he was happy for her.

"She told me when I spoke to her that her boyfriend treats her well and treats her like a princess, and at the end of the day as long as Alli is happy then I am happy," he added.

The Crossing Timeline

After Cohen asked about the crossing, Alli and Gary explained that they were an official couple during that period of time, but that it was never meant to last.

"It was inevitable that she was always leaving to Australia, so I think in the back of our minds we knew that we could never seriously work because of that," Gary clarified. "Regardless of the great chemistry and the ability to make each other laugh endlessly, and also finish each other's sentences."

Jean-Luc is the Father of Dani's Baby

"Let's put it this way. This baby was made during the season while we had cameras 24/7 with us and I only slept with one guy," Dani finally confirmed. "He hasn't supported me at all in any way. He thinks it is not his child and he doesn't want to have anything to do with it."

Dani opened up about the negativity that she saw online from people like Jean-Luc's mother and how she struggled with that.

"Obviously, I say during the whole season that I want to be a mom and have a family, but I wanted a family. That was my plan. That was my vision. I would not choose to move to a new country where I don't know anybody and choose to have a child with a 24-year-old boy that I barely knew," she emotionally revealed. "I did not plan that. I am just going with this now and I am sure my little baby girl is going to be amazing."

Daisy Kelliher, Chief Stewardess

New Chief Stew  Daisy Kelliher  is considered a yachting legacy. Her grandfather was an Olympic sailor for Ireland in 1964, and her parents—and many aunts and uncles—were yachties. Though Daisy has a lot to live up to when she joins Parsifal III as the new Chief Stew, that doesn't stop her from diving head-first into crew politics and drinking like a true Irish woman. Daisy can always be counted on to give you a piece of her mind and let her hair down to have a good time.

Colin Macrae, Chief Engineer

Long-time sailor  Colin Macrae  worked as a Chief Engineer on superyachts for eight years before joining Parsifal III. With a big heart and an impish smile, Colin is more than happy to lend a hand anywhere that he might be needed. But when Colin's kindness gets mistaken for weakness, fireworks fly.

Gary King, First Mate

Having captained smaller boats and run the deck on several busy superyachts, Gary King 's 12 years of experience is apparent in the way he runs his deck team. On one hand, he rules his department with an iron fist but on the other hand, he is never the type to leave a party first. He brims with mischievous charm but his casual flirtation turned real feelings gets him in hot water on and off deck.

Dani Soares, Second Stewardess

After two weeks of dock walking for day work in France, Dani Soares started her career in yachting and has almost eight years of experience working on the interior of yachts. While she takes her job seriously, she lets her feelings get the best of her and leaves her questioning how to best chart the course ahead.

Alli Dore, Third Stewardess

Alli Dore boards Parsifal III as a divemaster with boating experience on the exterior and hoping to round out her resume with more experience on the interior. She is a bubbly, eccentric Australian with a big heart and unique perspective that guides her to emotionally, unexpected places.

Sydney Zaruba, Deckhand

No stranger to life on the water, Sydney Zaruba 's parents lived on a sailboat when she was born and she now helps run her family's boat business, where they charter a 76-ft schooner named Freedom. Nearly eight months after the birth of Soares' daughter Lilly Rose , deckhand Cerza-Lanaux announced that the baby girl is his daughter in a lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday.

"As the year 2021 came to a close. A new year in 2022 begins with high ambitions and positivity. My silence on social media has been intentional and much needed. I used that time to focus on what was important to me and my mental health," he began. "I can't let 2022 go any further without sharing some beautiful news. An international DNA test that was done awhile ago was no small feat. I'm happy and proud to say Sweet and beautiful Lilly rose is my daughter."

Cerza-Lanaux, 26, went on to share that he and Soares, 33, have been learning to co-parent as best they can given their busy schedules.

"Dani and I have been working and communicating together to the best of our ability; given Dani is a full time mother and worker, and I being gone for extended periods of time not knowing when I will step back on land. This is imperative for the sake of our daughter as she needs both parents in her life," he explained.

"With that being said, going forward, I will no longer feel the need to explain myself to anybody, when realizing people only understand from their level of perception," he continued. "I am thankful for my friends, and family who have stuck by my side through thick and thin. As I look forward to this new year with new opportunities, I will be striving to be the best man and father that I can be. God bless."

Following the birth of Lilly in May, rumors had been swirling that deckhand Cerza-Lanaux was the father, ever since a preview for the Bravo show's season 2 reunion showed Soares saying that her baby's father is keeping a distance from her and his offspring .

"He thinks it's not his child, he doesn't want to have anything to do with it," Soares said in a teaser for the episode back in June.

"I'm not going to badmouth anybody because my daughter is going to see everything that I'm saying, everything that I'm doing and I don't want her to see things going back and forth on social media or things being said in a moment of anger," Soares told PEOPLE at the time. "As I said, the door's always open, but you need to do more than just talk. You need to actually have some action, do some action."

"The father was part of it, I didn't make her alone," she added of her daughter. "So, if he wants to be part of her life obviously [he can]. But he needs to do more than talk."

At the time, Cerza-Lanaux tried to "clear the air" in an Instagram post, hitting back at Soares' reunion comments in the process.

"While others are off chasing their 15 minutes of fame, I am working on a yacht in Central America and heartbroken to have to hear about the baby's birth on social media and read headlines like ' Dani Soares Says Her Baby's Father Doesn't Want Anything to Do With It ,' Cerza-Lanaux wrote. "All I can say is if she's mine, I want to be involved 100%."

"As someone who grew up with parents who weren't together, I wouldn't wish that on any child," he added. "Not looking for a pity party. Just want everyone to know how strongly I feel about this, especially the haters who are so sure I am neglecting my responsibility. No one wants to know more than me if this is my baby girl!"

The Below Deck franchise has given us a lot of firsts. Across Below Deck , Below Deck Mediterranean , and Below Deck Sailing Yacht , Bravo has aired everything from nudity to near-death experiences to in-depth analysis of maritime law. And now, after a total of 15 seasons have aired, we seem to have the very first Below Deck baby on our hands, a child that deserves a much better welcoming than she has received so far.

During Part 2 of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Reunion, host Andy Cohen questioned stew Dani Soares about the daughter she welcomed in May and if the father is deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux. It was an easy jump to make as we watched the two slink into the guest cabin for a private night of fun throughout this season which has aired for the majority of the spring, just as she revealed the pregnancy. But it was filmed at the end of last summer, so…anyone with basic math skills knew it added up.

And before we heard from Dani or JL, sure, there was the chance that maybe she met a different tall and hunky and more mature man and also had some fun. However, it not only seemed unlikely, it turns out, it never happened. When finally given the floor to talk, Dani said, “Well, let’s put it this way: this baby was made during the season while we had cameras 24/7 with us and I only slept with one guy.” And what has that guy’s reaction been since learning he’s the father? “He hasn’t supported me at all in any way,” Dani revealed. “He thinks it’s not his child and he doesn’t want to have anything to do with it,” she said of JL’s reaction.

She went on to detail how she found out she was pregnant as soon as she got back to Australia after the charter season in Croatia and that initially JL was “Obviously a bit shocked and everything but he seemed supportive.” But then it changed, and by December of last year he was “not interested anymore.” That became apparent on New Year’s Day when she got a message from him that said, “Don’t go around telling people I’m the dad of this child,” and saying he wanted a DNA test to prove it. Dani agreed as long as he organized and paid for it, which has yet to happen, and said he has asked about the baby two-three times total this year. She went on to say, “She’s gonna be amazing,” about her daughter, and that she would “Do my best every day to give her everything she needs.”

Andy was sure to tell her, “This girl is going to come into a world where she is very loved and you’re gonna be an incredible mom.” Dani’s pals also had her back, with Alli Dore saying, “She’s working so hard…she’s been amazing,” and of JL, “It’s incredibly disgusting and frustrating that he won’t even acknowledge the situation. My heart breaks for Dani but she’s so strong and I know she can do this without him and she will be better off.” Gary King was also sure to add that he “does not have a spine,” which, if it weren’t so true, would warrant some kind of joke about his height here, but it’s just too disappointing to even have fun with.

For her part, Dani was also sure to say she wished he was at the reunion so everyone could hear his side, though he later got his own sit-down with Andy. “Five days after the reunion was recorded, Jean-Luc found time in his work schedule to speak with Andy,” the screen read, as it was previously announced he was on coward, sorry, on charter . And let’s not forget, angel on Earth Colin found a way to drive 90 minutes to Wifi, so it feels like JL (also not the most motivated cast member we’ve ever seen on the show) could’ve figured out a way to face his fellow castmates.

“It was really unfortunate, I did want to be there but I had a charter and it was our primary’s daughter’s birthday so basically one of the biggest days of the whole charter that I could not take time off for,” is the excuse he gave. It seemed as though Andy was lobbing a few softball questions to start off the interview, but when asked what lessons he learned, JL replied, “Do not get intimate with any of the crew.” Ok bro, game on! He admitted, “The status of my relationship with Dani is kind of a little uncertain,” and that the two talk “a little bit back and forth but not as much as we probably should.” He added that “there’s some things that are to be questioned,” but that “we’re trying to be adults about this whole entire process and figure it out.”

Except he seems to have way more to figure out than she does. He said after he asked for the paternity test that it “turned into a lot of backlash and her not wanting to hear from me,” yet he thought, due to his lack of experience with women, that it was a “very understandable question to ask in any situation.” To confirm: it is not. He went on to say that he told Dani, “If this is my child, I want to be a part of that child’s life every single day as much as I can for the rest of her life.”

It’s the same sentiment he expressed this past weekend in an Instagram caption , and one that he repeated over and over again during his time with Andy, though that didn’t make it truer. In fact, it often felt as though someone had told him what to say, but he didn’t quite know what it meant, or that he meant it . Saying you want to be involved “100%” is very noble. But he had a relationship with Dani, they cared about each other, and so far, he’s been involved 0%.

In fact, the extent of his involvement is that he claims he will happily pay for the DNA test and that it’s gotten as far as him reaching out to her doctor’s office, even saying he wanted to be present for the birth. But none of those things have materialized, as Lilly was born on May 26th, and as the screen savagely stated, “Jean-Luc and Dani have yet to speak to each other.” Bro. Is the only good thing to come out of this mess going to be this sick burn ? Because, somehow, even his headphones were irritating.

Every season, viewers tune in to this show to see how crazy the guests are, how beautiful the landscapes are, and mostly, who hooks up on the boat. And almost every season, multiple crew members come through for us. However, there has never been a Below Deck baby before, and beautiful Lilly seems to be the first. We’ve always known that what happens on (or below) deck never stays on deck, but this drama has really jumped. Despite JL’s mom being messy online, Dani’s fellow crew members have truly had her back and rallied around her in comment sections as well as privately showing their support.

And for her part, Dani has been a class act. She didn’t post a photo of her pregnant belly until April when it became too hard to hide it, and has vowed to not “throw dirt” on JL’s name to the child. She’s remained admirably optimistic and strong publicly and seemed fully ready to embrace motherhood, despite not deserving to face it in this way.

But Lilly could’ve had a better celebration. A Below Deck Baby special on Bravo (or hell, even on Peacock), like a baby shower we would actually want to see! The crew members would show up with smiles and nautical-themed presents and Daisy could get wine-drunk again — it would’ve been awesome! This baby should be celebrated Andy-style, not Maury-style. It’s a wonderful, beautiful, special occasion. She’s being born to a loving mom who has a fantastic group of coworkers-turned-pals and now an international audience of people that also wish the best for her. I hope she never has to sit through that reunion or hear its pathetic excuses, and simply know that as far as her mom is concerned, she will always be the primary.

Meet The Season 2 Cast Of Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Prepare for messy romances and a lot of tension.

Season 2 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht features almost an entirely new cast . The only person fans will recognize is Captain Glenn Shephard, the leader fo the Parsifal III yacht who also captained the ship in Season 1. But with so many new crew members comes the potential for a ton of new drama.

Already, the Bravo website is teasing that the chief stew will butt heads with the chef, complicated romances will emerge, and tensions will be high due to pandemic protocols that required the crew to stay on board at all times. Captain Glenn is usually able to stay pretty cool in tough situations, he has his limits . If his staff isn't living up to his expectations, things could get rough. But as the captain teased to E! News, he tried his best to let the cast relax while also pushing them to stay on task. "Working on a yacht in a busy charter season is a bit of a pressure cooker," he said. "So, when there are not guests around, I will let them blow off a little steam — but I want to keep my eye on it, so it doesn't get out of hand." Of course, the trailer hints that things did exactly that .

Captain Glenn Shephard

According to his Bravo bio, Captain Glenn got his start in the sailing industry as a deckhand and worked his way up to captain over the course of two decades. His full-time job for the last 11 years has been as captain of the Parsifal III, the yacht featured in the show.

Natasha De Bourg

The Season 2 chef is Natasha De Bourg, who was trained in Europe and worked as an executive chef in France at L'Ardoise prior to diving into the yachting world. She's been working as a yacht chef for three years now. And when she's not cooking, she's making all her Instagram followers jealous with her glamorous travel photos .

Daisy Kelliher

Sailing is in Daisy's blood: her grandfather Eddie Kelliher was one of Ireland's Olympic sailors in 1964. She joins the Bravo cast as the yacht's Chief Stew, but she's been in yachting for years. Her Instagram shows that she's almost always on a boat, including during the 2018 St. Barths Bucket Regatta race.

Colin Macrae

Prior to joining Below Deck Sailing Yacht , Colin spent eight years as a yacht engineer on various other vessels. These days, he's also a YouTuber and vlogs about his various sailing adventures for his nearly 100,000 subscribers.

Now she's stepping into interior yacht work, so it'll be interesting to see how the change of pace goes for her.

The other deckhand is Jean-Luc, the youngest member of the crew . Before he joined the sailing world, he played college football for the Charlotte 49ers in North Carolina. But he's spent a lot of his life around water and on boats , fishing with his dad , so he's not starting in the sailing world with no sea knowledge at all.

'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' Star Dani Soares Gives Birth to First Child

The new mom shared the exciting news on her Instagram on Saturday.

Dani Soares is officially a mom! The Below Deck Sailing Yacht star welcomed her first child, a baby girl. The new mom shared the happy news on her Instagram on Saturday, also posting a sweet photo of her little one's tiny hand.

"She is here. She is perfect. And we trying to figure this thing out," Soares captioned the photo. "We both healthy and happy. Thank you for all the support ❤❤❤."

She added, "Will post more once mummy had some rest 😂."

A handful of her Below Deck Sailing Yacht co-stars congratulated her on her bundle of joy, with lCaptain Glenn Shephard writing, "OMG Congratulations Dani, I’m so proud of you. 🎉🍾🎊." Alli Dore wrote, "Super mum!!!! 😍😍😍," while Sydney Zaruba added, "Congrats mama!!!"

Soares revealed that she was pregnant with her first child in late April. She showed off her baby bump, writing, "It's just you and I little baby."

Earlier this month, she penned a message to her baby girl, expressing how she was "already so loved."

"From the moment I knew you were here, I've been making sure I'm doing everything I can to help you grow healthy inside of me and to make sure you'll have what you need when you out," she wrote, adding that while "this is not how I dreamed, not how I planned, but you [are] not unwanted."

"Bringing a life to this world is a blessing and you are here to show me I have a reason to keep going and a purpose in this life. You already so loved ❤," she concluded.

ET spoke with Daisy Kelliher, the Below Deck Sailing Yacht chief stewardess, about Soares surprise pregnancy , where she shared that she didn't know who the father was. After Soares and deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux (AKA "JL") started hooking up on the show, fans jumped to conclusions thinking he was the father.   "Dani's the only one who knows that. Whether she in time decides to come out with that, I honestly have no idea," Kelliher admitted. “I'm sure she's sick of explaining to people or doing whatever she's doing. So, for me, I just ask her if she's OK, and that's about as far as my interrogation goes."

"I don't know. I suppose just them being healthy is the main thing, and whether it's JL's baby, I don't know," she added.

However, during his tenure as a bosun in season 4, Kelley faced challenges that may have contributed to his perception of a forgettable bosun . One notable incident during Kelley Johnson's time as a bosun involved a romantic relationship with Jennice Ontiveros, which led to personal and professional complications on the yacht. Aleks Taldykin

Despite enjoying working with Ross, Captain Lee Rosbach and Captain Sandy Yawn couldn't overlook the drama he was involved in.

One of Ross's significant storylines in season 10 was his boatmance with deckhand Katie Glaser . Their relationship faced challenges due to Ross's cheating and lack of respect towards Katie. He was flirty with other crew members and women outside the crew, causing tension and drama. Ross's behavior wasn't only noticed by viewers and the show's makeup artist, Samantha Suarez. She accused him of making inappropriate comments towards her during a car ride. Luckily, Ross didn't return for Below Deck season 11 and has become a forgettable bosun.

Chandler Brooks

Below deck season 6.

Chandler Brooks initially started as the first mate on the yacht, overseeing the deck crew and assisting Captain Lee. However, his performance as first mate was abysmal. Despite the initial challenges, Chandler was later promoted to bosun during the season, replacing Ross Inia. However, his shortcomings continued to affect function onboard, leading to frustration among the crew members.

One of the notable storylines involving Chandler Brooks on Below Deck season 6 was his strained relationship with the crew, particularly with chief stew Kate Chastain. His lack of communication and leadership style created tension and conflict within the crew, impacting their ability to work effectively. After just one season, he's become one of the least memorable bosuns from the show.

Paget Berry

Paget Berry was the bosun aboard Parsifal III sailing yacht in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1. One of the main plot points involving Paget on the show was his romantic relationship with fellow crew member Ciara Duggan, who worked as a deckhand. The couple's relationship was a significant focus throughout the season, with their interactions and dynamics often playing out on camera. While Paget and Ciara are no longer together, watching their romance unfold onscreen was somewhat entertaining.

Paget's storyline as a bosun might not have been as dramatic or attention-grabbing as some other cast members on the show. Below deck adventure season 1.

Lewis Lupton was featured as a bosun on Below Deck Adventure season 1, following the crew of the luxury yacht Mercury as they navigate the challenges of the charter season. Lewis's role as bosun was crucial, but he wasn't a memorable crew member. He hasn't returned to the franchise since the initial season of Below Deck Adventure.

Captain Kerry saw potential in Lewis, but his time on the show was controversial. He was involved in drama involving fellow crew members, including Kyle Dickard. Kyle's unprofessional behavior, including flirting with a stew in front of charter guests and threatening violence, led to his resignation. Lewis's involvement in the drama sparked mixed reactions. Overall, he only appeared in one season and wasn't very memorable.

Below Deck Season 5

EJ Jansen appeared as a bosun in season 5. He joined the crew as a temporary replacement for bosun Kelley, who left the boat temporarily to attend to a family emergency. As a temporary bosun, he had big shoes to fill, stepping into a leadership role and managing the deck crew in Kelley's absence. While EJ was up to the task in many ways, he was also forgettable.

One of the most memorable aspects of Jansen's time on the show was his interactions with the rest of the crew, particularly with chief stew Kate. Their dynamic included moments of tension and understanding. Unfortunately, partially due to his short stint as bosun, he wasn't as memorable as other crew members on Below Deck. He only appeared in one season, and Kelley also didn't return.

Bryan Kattenburg's appearance on Below Deck Med stirred controversy and made the show more captivating. Unfortunately, he was forgotten. As the first bosun of the luxurious mega-yacht around the Greek Islands, Kattenburg was introduced as a skilled leader who embraced the "yachtie lifestyle" and prided himself on getting along with everyone.

However, his clashes with crew members, including Jen Riservato, who openly expressed her dislike for him, painted a different picture. Fans criticized Bryan, accusing him of sexism, arrogance, and aggressiveness toward his crew. Despite acknowledging that reality TV often amplifies drama, Bryan admitted to being portrayed as the bad guy. Luckily, Bryan has been largely forgotten since his time in the Below Deck franchise.

There was a major rift between Colin MacRae, Daisy Kelliher, and Gary King that left fans wondering what would happen next with the dream team.

The anticipation for Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 was heightened after sexual misconduct allegations against Gary broke last summer, and he was removed from BravoCon.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans will soon have the answers to some burning questions about Season 5 as the premiere nears.

As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Captain Glenn teased the next season of the sailing show would hit Bravo airwaves this summer, but we have narrowed it down more.

When does Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 premiere in 2024?

Below Deck, Season 11 has entered the back half of the season, and we are closer to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5. Based on the mid-season trailer for Below Deck, the Season 11 finale will air on Monday, May 20.

That means Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht should premiere on Monday, June 3. The reason for the two-week break will be for one of two reasons.

One is a Below Deck Season 11 reunion that will air on Monday, May 27. At this time, we don’t know if a reunion will happen, but fans shouldn’t get their hopes for a reunion. Below Deck reunions seem to be a thing of the past.

If there isn’t a Below Deck reunion, Below Deck Sailing Yacht will likely still air on June 3 because Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day. Odds are Bravo won’t air the premiere of a new season on a holiday.

This means that in less than two months, Below Deck Sailing Yacht will be back on the air.

When will a Below Deck Sailing Yacht trailer drop?

While we wait for the Below Deck Sailing Yacht premiere date, Bravo should be giving fans a trailer for Season 5 in the next couple of weeks. Bravo tends to share more cast news and a teaser for new seasons about 4 to 6 weeks from the premiere date.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans can definitely expect a trailer before the end of April. Along with a teaser, we will learn about the cast or, instead, what we don’t already know.

Here's How Below Deck Sailing Yacht Producers Reacted to Dani Soares' Pregnancy

Executive producer Courtland Cox shares when he and the production team learned the stew was expecting.

The Below Deck community received some happy news last month. Below Deck Sailing Yacht stew Dani Soares announced that she is expecting her first child with a baby bump-baring photo on Instagram on April 24.

Dani previously explained during an interview with Daily Mail Australia last month why she waited to share the news of her pregnancy publicly. "I was just trying to hold onto it a little bit, it's such a personal thing," she said. "But I'm actually very relieved that it's out there and everybody knows about it."

Below Deck Sailing Yacht executive producer Courtland Cox shared a similar sentiment while opening up about when production learned of Dani's pregnancy during a recent interview with Vanity Fair . “Dani brought it to our attention when we were pretty far into the postproduction process,” he said. “Even once Dani found out, I think she kind of wanted to sit with [the news] herself. Then she let us know and said, ‘Hey, just so you know, I’m pregnant.’ We said, ‘Okay, great.’ I left that up to her and how much information she wanted to give us."

Of course, Cox couldn't have been happier for Dani. "My first reaction was, ‘That’s fantastic. Congratulations.’ Because she made it clear throughout the season that she wanted a family ," he shared. "The rest of that is for Dani to figure out."

Dani shared her reaction to seeing herself wanting to start that next chapter this season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , as well as more details about her pregnancy, in an exclusive interview with Bravo Insider .

The stew has received lots of love and support from fans and her  Below Deck family alike, including fellow  Below Deck Sailing Yacht  Season 2 stew Alli Dore , who gushed about Dani's pregnancy during her appearance on  Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen  on May 10.   "I've known for a while, actually. Dani and I speak nearly every day, so I've known for quite a few months [that she's pregnant]," Alli said. "And I was absolutely elated for her. I mean, doing it on her own, she's the bravest woman in the world."

Following her pregnancy announcement, Dani opened up more becoming a mom in a post on Instagram on May 5. "From the moment I knew you were here, I've been making sure I'm doing everything I can to help you grow healthy inside of me and to make sure you'll have what you need when [you're] out," she wrote in the caption to a post that featured another gorgeous photo of her baby bump. "This is not how I dreamed, not how I planned, but you [are] not unwanted. Bringing a life to this world is a blessing and you are here to show me I have a reason to keep going and a purpose in this life. You [are] already so loved."

Earlier this week, Dani posted another glowing selfie in which she declared, "Final weeks of pregnancy ain't easy y'all!"

However, we can only imagine she is still riding high from the news that she will be welcoming a baby girl , which she announced on Instagram last week. "When [I found] out I was pregnant, all I really wanted was a healthy baby and didn't really care about anything else," Dani wrote. "But now, I'm looking forward to having my little girl and developing that mother and daughter relationship."

Below Deck Recap: Paris Peace Talks

We pick back up with the St. David in the middle of sushi-gate. There’s no vegetarian sushi for Melinda, the primary, because Anthony prioritized the more demanding Jill Zarin, and he doesn’t have time to throw something else together while he’s trying to get multiple dinner options ready to appease the guests’ different dietary restrictions. Frustrated by all the moving pieces, Anthony complains, “They think I’m an octopus.” Even his metaphors aren’t vegetarian friendly.

Fraser is worried Anthony’s not up for the job and vetoes his diarrhea-esque   pad Thai plating. Unfortunately this does not save it from being cold and average. Captain Kerry joins the guests for dinner, so he’s fully aware of the failure and Jill’s critiques but keeps a game face on. Anthony admits he doesn’t have the proper experience with vegan food. I’m a vegetarian who has spent time in France, where I was often asked, “You eat chicken though, yes?” so this news is not shocking at all.

The interior is suffering this charter. They’re a stew down, and Barbie especially is feeling the extra work. She’s shutting down and feels like she can’t communicate with Fraser. She’s still being professional, yet her curt responses and cold shoulder don’t seem like genuine attempts to communicate. As they see the guests off, Fraser tries to have a nice moment, complimenting her work, but Barbie’s quiet, terse “thank you” may have well been a “fuck you.”

Meanwhile, Dylan and Ben are happily bonding over hooking up with charter guests in the past. Dylan claims he gets hit on by so many guys and girls, but his move at a bar is doing push-ups and then slicking his eyebrows. If there’s any deck-crew drama to be had, it’s that Ben needs to choose a lead deckhand soon. Ben sees Dylan as a puppy who’s eager for the job but thinks Sunny knows the boat better. He wouldn’t want it to seem like he’s showing her favoritism, though. Speaking of their relationship, Sunny tells us she wants the kind of love she saw her parents have growing up. I wonder if they also started as a questionable work romance. Anyway, we’ll have to wait until next week to find out who will be Grenada’s Next Top Deckhand.

Everyone prepares for a windy docking, and at first, all the shots of rustling trees weren’t convincing me it was  that  windy. Then we see some waving flags and the guests’ hair flying everywhere, and I actually got a little nervous. But the docking is completely fine. It’s not like I was rooting for the boat to crash, but why do I feel disappointed? Okay, maybe I am rooting for a crash. Insurance would pay for it anyway.

As she departs, Melinda says the exterior crew was flawless and acknowledges they were a tough group to cook for but leaves no compliments for the interior. The tip is $20,000 or $1,667 each, the lowest of the season so far.   That barely covers a VIP ticket to BravoCon.

Kerry calls Anthony to the bridge for a postmortem on dinner. Anthony knows it was bad. He feels like he’s back in school, struggling, and says, “I can see my teacher in my head telling me, ‘Damn, you’re still a fucking loser.’ Born a loser, die like a loser.” Now I’m concerned about this teacher who was seemingly bullying his students.

The new stew, Paris, meets the crew out at dinner. Fraser has FaceTimed with her before (she’s Jake from season nine’s ex-fiancée), so he’s thrilled to have her onboard. As am I, because Paris is immediately entertaining: She loves mayonnaise and doesn’t have any serotonin left, so she plans to regain happiness through others’ suffering. Xandi is excited about her new roommate because Paris loves laundry and has four years of experience. Maybe she’ll iron the napkins.

Paris has been a sole stewardess in Perth, and Sunny is immediately worried about Ben being into the pretty new girl who’s also a fellow Australian. She’s so Australian that she has two kangaroos at home and tells everyone to look up echidna penises. But back on the boat after dinner, it’s a relatively tame night. Sunny and Ben hook up in the bathroom (again) and take Ben and Kyle’s room for themselves, sending Kyle to bunk with Barbie (again). Barbie is purportedly keeping their relationship platonic. How she doesn’t cave to Kyle adorably obeying her commands with “woof woof,” I do not know.

The crew spends their day off at a resort, and it feels unfair that Paris gets this reward when she hasn’t worked yet. Although she is immediately putting in work as a confidant and go-between. Fraser fills Paris in on Barbie’s attitude issues while Barbie complains to Ben that she’s not getting breaks. Paris knows this is awkward; Fraser feels comfortable venting to her, but he’s her boss. He’s putting a lot of confidence in someone he hasn’t even seen make a bed yet.

Barbie tells Fraser she doesn’t feel like she can talk to him because she’s working  for  him, not with him. He doesn’t take this well. Paris listens nearby, sipping her cocktail as if watching a show. Fraser says Barbie is horrible to work with when she’s in a mood. She asks if he wants her to go. He says no; he just wants her to accept that this is yachting. Paris then consoles a crying Barbie, who explains it’s not a work issue with Fraser; it’s a personality clash. They can’t communicate without triggering each other. Paris, realizing there is very little substance to this whole thing, clocks them both as defensive drama queens. She compares herself to Dr. Phil, a no-longer-licensed psychologist whose Wikipedia page has a ten-paragraph “Controversies and lawsuits” section, which does not inspire confidence in her ability to solve this conflict.

Fraser talks to Ben, who looks like a lifeguard in his Speedo, hat, sunnies, and mic necklace that I mistook for a whistle. Fraser reverses his earlier thinking, now saying he’s done with Barbie and doesn’t want to give her another charter. Lifeguard Ben can’t save it. And hopefully a real lifeguard has an eye on Anthony, who sadly floats away on an inflatable swan tube. Similarly, Xandi’s in a dinosaur tube lamenting the lack of a man for her.

Dylan, rather than using push-ups, attempts to hit on Paris by saying it’s so funny her name is Paris when she’s from Australia, she looks like she could wear Crocs, and does she like Steve Irwin? Paris (and I) find this cringe. Paris tells us he’s gorgeous, but personality wise he’s a three. Ouch. Though I am dying to hear the full story that includes Dylan saying, “Everything’s Gucci in the world, and then I looked down, and my right nut was out.”

Ben and Paris connect after firefighting the Fraser/Barbie inferno all day. As they’re talking, Ben puts his hand on her knee. It looks awkward, but Paris doesn’t seem to mind. Suddenly they’re holding arms in a drunken way that feels all the more inappropriate in full daylight. And, of course, Sunny sees this. Sunny tells Xandi she wishes she had had important conversations with Ben, such as, “I don’t think we should touch other people.” This is not a standard step in defining a relationship; it’s a conversation you have with a child who doesn’t understand personal space.

Paris tries to vouch for Barbie with Fraser as he gets ready for the evening. She says he and Barbie are too similar, and he doesn’t like that assessment at all. He also appears to be putting blush all over his face for a sunburned look. Barbie, multitasking even on her day off, cries on the phone with her mom while doing her makeup. Let’s hope her concealer is waterproof.

He was hired as a deckhand in season 2 despite having only a year of experience in the yachting industry. Despite his relatively short tenure, he showcased skills showcased by seasoned sailors, particularly in his ability to navigate boats using the stars.

However, Adam admitted to being prone to seasickness, which only proved to be the beginning of his problems as a deckhand. Adam was an intelligent and well-meaning deckhand who happened to make an unfortunate mistake in Below Deck Down Under season 2. While some may believe he didn't deserve to be fired, the safety of the crew and guests has to come first. Captain Jason should have spent more time training the inexperienced deckhand to prevent an accident, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. If he's still interested in yachting and increasing his skill set, he may get invited back to the high seas. For now, the elusive cast member's plans remain unknown.
