For those planning to hire a car or take a taxi, you’ll find Help Beach at the bottom of a hill via a winding road, complete with free parking just right outside.

If you’re staying in Fethiye, the beach club provides a highly convenient option to travel – a free shuttle boat service. Isn’t that idyllic? 

You may have seen the announcements on their Facebook page, where they’ve been building up the excitement around this unique transport option.

You can access this shuttle boat service from Uğur Mumcu Park, identifiable by two oblong orange banners proudly displaying the word ‘Help’.

Arriving at Help Beach by Boat

The boat journey to Help Beach promises an adventure of its own. Initially, the boat trips were contingent on having a minimum of six passengers onboard.

However, thanks to the growing popularity of Help Beach, this is rarely a problem.

If you do get the chance to be on the boat, be prepared for a hearty chuckle or two from the friendly boat crew!

The shuttle boat trip to Help Beach is estimated to last about 40 minutes, but as we say in Fethiye, the journey is part of the destination.

You’ll get to soak up the beautiful scenery as the coastline unfurls around you. 

As you slowly enter the bay and your destination comes into view, you’ll no doubt be charmed by the stunning spectacle that is Help Beach.

The combination of the turquoise sea, sandy beach, and the inviting beach club is a sight that greets you warmly.

Entry Fee on Help Beach & Yacht Club

Wondering about the cost of spending a day in paradise? Well, the good news is that it’s more affordable than you might think.

On our visit to the scenic Help Beach & Yacht Club, the price for an entire day’s access, including a sunbed and parasol, was 350 Turkish Lira per person.

Let’s break that down: For just 350 Turkish Lira, you get a comfortable sun lounger under the shade of a parasol, perfect for unwinding, basking in the sun, or catching up on that book you’ve been meaning to read. 

But that’s not all. This fee also covers your access to the club’s top-notch facilities and the private beach.

Quality is a byword at Help Beach & Yacht Club, from the excellent beach amenities to the top-rated customer service.

Given this, we found the entry price to be very affordable and excellent value for money.

After all, can you really put a price on relaxation, the cool sea breeze, and the feeling of sand between your toes? We don’t think so.

While the price point is slightly higher than what you might find in Fethiye Old Town, the quality of the food, the generous portion sizes, and the unmatched beach view make it well worth the cost.

A personal recommendation is the chicken pesto pasta – a truly delicious dish!

For many visitors, the highlight of Help Beach & Yacht Club is the expansive beach bar.

This space, imbued with the same bohemian decor as the restaurant, offers a stunning vista alongside a variety of seating options, including quirky chairs, comfortable sofas, and even swings.

The bar menu is just as varied as the seating, featuring a range of beverages that includes cocktails, beers, spirits, soft drinks, and freshly squeezed juices.

The prices are reasonably set, particularly in comparison to other beach clubs in Turkey. The cocktails, deliciously crafted and averaging around £10 each, are a must-try!

At-Lounger Service

One standout feature of the dining experience at Help Beach & Yacht Club is the at-lounger service.

I f you’re lounging under a parasol and craving a drink but don’t want to leave your comfortable sun lounger, simply press the button at the top of the parasol. 

A member of the staff will promptly arrive to take your order.

When you’re ready to settle your bill, press the ‘bill’ button, and a staff member will arrive to process your payment.

This convenient service adds an extra level of relaxation and luxury to your beach club experience.

Help Beach Club provides an idyllic environment for a day of relaxation and fun. Here are some tips and suggestions to help you make the most of your visit:

Duration of Stay

Help Beach Club is an excellent place to unwind, whether in the morning when the weather is typically cooler, or in the afternoon leading up to a breathtaking sunset.

The venue is designed to  facilitate  extended stays, with the 350 Lira sun lounger/entrance fee allowing you entry for the entire day. 

You can plan your visit according to your preferences: opt for a few hours in the afternoon as we did, or turn it into a full day’s outing. Whatever your choice, the experience is sure to be memorable.

Arrive Early

To secure the best sun loungers located by the shore, plan to arrive early in the morning.

This is particularly important during the peak season months of July and August when the beach club gets busy. 

An early arrival not only ensures a prime lounging spot but also  allows  you to enjoy the tranquil morning ambiance.

Prepare for Pebbled Beach

The beach at Help Beach Club is pebbled, with some sharp rocks and stones underfoot. If you plan to spend time in the water, consider bringing a pair of water shoes to protect your feet and ensure a comfortable experience.

The challenge with the local beaches in and around Fethiye, and every Turkish beach destination in the summer months, is that they get really busy. If you’re looking for a relaxing beach day where you’re guaranteed a sun lounger with your own private space, with plenty of room to move around, we recommend checking out one of Fethiye’s exclusive beach clubs.

When we visited Fethiye this summer, we spent the day at Help Beach Club, which is rated as the number one beach club in the area. In this guide, we’ll talk about Help Beach club in more detail, from its facilities, to the restaurants and bars, and of course, the beach! What are Turkish beach clubs?

Beach clubs are privately own beach venue where guests pay a small entry fee to gain access to an exclusive beach for the entire day. Often, there isn’t a fee to enter per se, but you have to reserve a sun lounger. Beach clubs are a great for those who aren’t keen on the overly packed ‘free’ beaches. They provide a more comfortable beach day, with plenty of amenities on your doorstep.

Unlike beach clubs in other destinations, many beach clubs in Turkey are family-friendly, with less of a wild party atmosphere compared to the likes of Ibiza.

Help Beach Club overview

Help Beach Club is a small beach club that’s hidden away in a quiet cove, located a 10-minute drive from Fethiye marina. Its secluded beach location has been transformed into a beach club haven, with plenty of loungers, Bohemian-style décor, a quirky restaurant and plenty of beach facilities.

The beach club also hosts a variety of events and DJ’s, playing different types of music each day of the week.

What’s the vibe at Help Beach Club?

We visited during the day and found the vibe to be very laid back and relaxing. It’s a family-friendly atmosphere that everyone can enjoy. As the sunsets and the evening arrives, the atmosphere picks up and there’s more of an upbeat vibe, especially if visiting on weekends or for a special event.

How to get to Help Beach

The best way to get to Help Beach is either by hiring a car or jumping into a taxi. It’s around a 13-minute drive from Fethiye Old Town making it really accessible for anyone staying in town. It’s also well located for anyone staying in Oludeniz, Calis, or one of the other nearby beach resorts.

The beach club is located at the bottom of a hill on a winding road. It also has a free parking right outside if you’re bringing your own car.

How much is the entry fee?

When we visited, we paid 200 Turkish Lira per person for a sunbed and parasol for the entire day. This also included access to all the facilities and use of the private beach. The sunbeds were extremely comfortable and we think the price was very affordable considering the quality of the beach club.

What are the facilities at Help Beach Club Fethiye?

You’ll find all of the following facilities on offer as part of your entry/sunbed fee.

There is one open-air restaurant that’s located opposite the bar. There’s plenty of seating for you to choose from, so you won’t be hanging around waiting for a table. The restaurant has a bohemian-style theming throughout, along with chairs that feature the name of famous actors on the back. We thought this was a great added touch!

The menu at the restaurant is quite extensive, catering to all dietary needs, from pizzas and pastas, to sandwiches, wraps, burgers and classic Turkish dishes. We thought the prices were reasonable, considering the stunning view of the beach you get. It’s a little more expensive for a meal compared to Fethiye Old Town, but not overly so. Portion sizes were also very good. We opted for the chicken pesto pasta and was delicious!

The best part of the beach club for many is the beach bar! The bar is a huge area where you can enjoy a drink or two with a view. It features quirky seating arrangements, sofas, swings and the same bohemian décor of the restaurant. You can choose from delicious cocktails, which average around £10 each, beers, spirits, and a range of soft drinks and freshly made juices. Again, prices are quite reasonable. We visited a few other beach in Turkey and they were very expensive! Help Beach was cheap in comparison.

Top tip: if you fancy a drink, but don’t want to get up to order at the bar, you can make use of the at-lounger service. Press the button at the top of your rented parasol and a member of staff will come and take your order. Equally, when you want to pay, you can press the ‘bill’ button and the staff will take payment. We found the system extremely handy!

Relax on a sun lounger

The sun loungers are incredibly comfortable, unlike the standard hard beds that you often find at public beaches. These sun loungers are well padded and have a small pillow that you can rest your head on. If you’re looking for a relaxing day listening to music, reading a book, and simply taking in the wonderful scenery, then you’re in luck!

Go for a swim

One of the beauties and attractions of beach clubs is the fact that you have private access to your very own beach. It’s never busy as access to the beach club is limited. There’s always space for you to take a dip or a swim. The water is quite chilly when you first get in, but it does the job in cooling you down from the baking Turkish sun, especially during the months of June – August.

Beach swings

Another great touch at Help Beach are the wooden swings located next to the shore. It’s a great place to sit down and watch the world go by, or take an ‘Instagramable’ picture.

Water sports

Beach clubs aren’t always just about relaxing, they’re also a good place to take part in some fun water activities! The beach club offers water sports such as parasailing, jet ski rental speed boat rides. They also have a floating platform where you can chill and sunbathe on. Visit the dock area on the beach to enquire about water sports bookings. We didn’t try this ourselves, but spoke to plenty of people who did.

Changing facilities

You won’t need to head back home sandy, covered in sea water, as there are shower facilities at the beach club. You can even bring your shower gel and shampoo if you wish. There are also changing facilities and toilets within the same area.

If you’re looking for a more party atmosphere and fancy a night out on the beach with friends, then be sure to check out Help Beach’s events calendar on their website. They regularly host summer DJ events with music ranging from Hip Hop and Latino dance, to trance and EDM.

What are the prices like?

The prices are fairy reasonable compared to some other beach clubs we visited in Turkey. A meal will cost you 100 – 250 Lira. Drinks are equally as reasonably priced. We found the prices similar compared to Fethiye restaurant costs, with cocktails being the most expensive. Local beer and wine are pretty affordable.

How long should I spend at Help Beach Club?

Help Beach Club is a great place to relax, either in the morning when the weather is more pleasant and slightly cooler, or the afternoon until sunset when it’s too hot to sightsee. You can even choose to make a day of it! It’s completely up to you. The 200 Lira sun lounger/entrance fee allows you entry for the entire day, so you can stay for however long you wish. We personally spent a few hours at Help in the afternoon and enjoyed a spot of lunch.

Our top tips for visiting Help Beach Club

• Be sure to arrive early morning if you want to grab the best sun loungers by the shore. This is especially the case in the busier months of the year (July and August).
• Bring a pair of water shoes if you’re looking to spend time in the water. It’s a pebbled beach and has some sharp rocks and stones, so you’ll want to protect your feet.
• If you’re looking for a more up-beat experience at Help Beach, we suggest arriving just before sunset and on a weekend. Mornings have a more laid-back, family atmosphere.
• Take advantage of the at-lounger service button and have your drinks and food brought to you.
• If you’re a larger group, you can reserve a cabana for the day.
• If you like a drink, leave your car at home, as the cocktails are amazing! Taxis to and from Fethiye area quick, easy and affordable.
• Renting a boat? Ask your skipper to help you dock and make a great entrance to the club!

• Help Beach Club is rated the top beach club in the Fethiye area.
• Prices to rent sunbeds, a parasol and a table are affordable compared to other beach clubs. Equally, food a drink costs are very reasonable compared to other beach clubs. Others we visited were very expensive!
• The staff are really attentive and are always wandering up and down ready to take your order.
• The quality of the food and drinks are really good, and affordable too!
• There are pebbled areas of the beach, which can be quite uncomfortable to walk on.
• The road is a bit tricky to drive down, as it’s located at the bottom of a hillside. We don’t recommend walking as it will take quite some time. Either drive or jump in a taxi.
• The vibe of a beach club isn’t for everyone. You could visit one day and find it to be busy, loud and party-fuelled. Other days are a lot more laid-back.

Staying in Oleduniz or Thenteye and looking for things to do? You need to check out Help Beach! Forget visiting those standard boring pebble beaches – and get to this Hawaiian beach with a sweet vibe!

Help Beach separates itself from most of the other beaches in Turkey. And it’s no wonder why.

After visiting here, make sure to check out the Oludeniz Blue Lagoon !

Here’s why.

The water is crystal clear and is perfect for snorkelling and swimming. The food here is delicious! Not to mention the cocktails are actually good, unlike a lot of bars in Ölüdeniz. It has an awesome atmosphere with classic Ibiza chill out music running in the backdrop (obviously up to you if you want a little dance).

Don’t sleep on it though, sun beds fill up very fast!

Where is Help Beach?

Help Beach is located just a 5-10 minute drive from the centre of Fethiye. It takes 25 minutes to get from Ölüdeniz to Help Beach in a taxi.

What is the Help Beach entrance fee?

$0 it’s free. However, you will have to hire a bed for $6. This fee gets you the bed from 9am to 11pm. Also, you will have to pay $6 for the umbrella.

We didn’t know you had to pay for the umbrella until the end of the day. And to be honest, we wouldn’t of got one – let the rays tan us 🙂

How to get to Help Beach Bar?

Getting to the beach is easy and you have a few ways to get to Help Beach and Yacht Club. Here’s how;

• You can hire a scooter. We didn’t do this but it’s how I would usually travel around. You can pick up a scooter for cheap, however, you will be required to hand over your passport as a deposit.
• If a scooter is a little uneasy, you can rent a car or quad bike and make your way to the beach.
• Taxi, this is one of the easiest ways. You will only have to pay around $13 to get from Oludeniz to Help Beach in a taxi.
• Boat trips in Fethiye and Oludeniz are very popular. And you can get a boat tour to Help Beach.

Can you see the sunset there?

Yes of course, the sunset is beautiful! And I would definitely stay for that if you can. The bar shuts around 11pm so you can dance the night away under the setting sun. Awesome.

This is by far the best beach I’ve seen in Turkey. I visited Marmaris but here was a lot nicer!

Chinese Billionaire and Bannon Ally Is Convicted of Fraud

A federal jury found that Guo Wengui defrauded investors, many his own fervent supporters, of hundreds of millions of dollars. He could face decades in prison.

Guo Wengui, the exiled Chinese billionaire who transformed himself from a Beijing insider into a fierce critic of the Chinese Communist Party and a favorite of the American right, was convicted on Tuesday of defrauding investors of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Mr. Guo, also known as Miles Guo, was accused of using a number of schemes — club memberships, cryptocurrencies, a sale of private shares in his media company — to fleece his followers and maintain a lavish lifestyle. On the fourth day of deliberations, a jury in the Southern District of New York found him guilty on nine of 12 charges, including racketeering conspiracy, securities fraud and money laundering conspiracy. Set to be sentenced on Nov. 19, Mr. Guo could face decades in prison or the remote possibility of extradition to China.

In a trial lasting almost two months, government prosecutors highlighted rambling videos Mr. Guo had made for his thousands of supporters, often guaranteeing no losses on their investments. The proceeds helped pay for a mansion in New Jersey, a Lamborghini roadster and a $100 million investment in a hedge fund. Prosecutors also drew on bank records, invoices and the testimony of Mr. Guo’s former employees and jilted investors, who had been drawn to a wealthy Beijing expatriate dedicated to ending the seven-decade rule of the Chinese Communist Party.

“Is Miles Guo a real political activist or not? I don’t know, I don’t care, and neither should you,” Juliana Murray, an assistant U.S. attorney, told the jury on Thursday. “He’s an opportunist. He’s a fraudster.”

The conviction is the end point of a remarkable trajectory for Mr. Guo, who made his original fortune in China building hotels and acquiring a brokerage company. Along the way, he allied himself with Ma Jian, a senior intelligence official in the country’s feared Ministry of State Security. Mr. Guo used his access to sensitive information to take down people who stood in his way, including a deputy mayor of Beijing who opposed his plans to build a massive office and hotel complex next to the site of the 2008 Olympic Games.

Mr. Guo’s time in China came to an abrupt end in 2015, after Mr. Ma was detained by the government. Mr. Guo fled to America and bought a $68 million Manhattan penthouse overlooking Central Park, winning the approval of the building’s co-op board with the help of a recommendation letter from the former British prime minister Tony Blair.

Mr. Guo may be unique in that he thrived — until he didn’t — in two very different political systems. When he came to the United States, he cultivated political relationships to burnish his image, but this time it was with members of the American right, especially Stephen K. Bannon, a longtime adviser to former President Donald J. Trump. By early 2017, shortly after Mr. Trump took office, Mr. Guo was a member of Mar-a-Lago, Mr. Trump’s club in Palm Beach, Fla.

That year, Mr. Guo applied for political asylum and publicly accused senior Chinese leaders of corruption. China sought to extradite him, enlisting the support of a senior Republican official in a failed attempt to lobby the Trump administration. Beijing also leveled its own charges against him, including bribery and rape, aided by testimony from his former patron Mr. Ma.

Mr. Guo, whose age has been described as anywhere from 54 to 57, did not take the stand in his trial. His lawyers argued that his businesses were legitimate and were designed to further his anti-Communist crusade. His efforts included running a Chinese-language streaming site and a Twitter-like social media platform , both popular with exiles. The three counts on which Mr. Guo was found not guilty were related to his media company GTV: wire and securities fraud, and “unlawful monetary transactions.”

Mr. Guo was the leader of a “political enterprise of people banded together to bring down one of the world’s most powerful governments, and so that’s what they set out to do,” Sidhardha Kamaraju, one of Mr. Guo’s lawyers, said in closing remarks last week. “They started setting up the infrastructure to help carry that movement forward.”

But prosecutors countered the portrayal of Mr. Guo as a principled anti-Communist leader with recordings, made by a former employee, of a heated conversation in 2021 about how to execute some planned money transfers. Mr. Guo could be heard screaming at his employees in Mandarin, yelling “scumbag” and “go to hell” and a string of other epithets. Prosecutors played the tape to jurors on Wednesday and again on Thursday to drive home the point.

“That’s the boss of a criminal enterprise,” Ms. Murray said.

Mr. Guo’s defense was also undermined by the behavior of his followers, so-called fellow fighters who were deployed far and wide to attack his perceived enemies, including a prominent Chinese dissident.

They demonstrated outside the Cambridge, Mass., home of a government witness, the son-in-law of a court-appointed bankruptcy trustee for Mr. Guo, handing out inflammatory pamphlets with a Communist hammer-and-sickle. They also went to the school where the witness’s wife was a third-grade teacher. She was “really panicked, really upset, just really, you know, crying and unsettled and just kind of overcome with fear,” Daniel Copeland, the witness, told the court.

Throughout the trial, prosecutors worked to associate Mr. Guo with Mr. Bannon, named a co-conspirator by the government but not indicted. Mr. Bannon had a $1 million consulting contract with one of Mr. Guo’s companies and had a hand in creating three organizations that were central to the government’s case. On multiple occasions, his picture was shown on screens placed in front of the jurors.

Mr. Bannon, who recently began serving a prison term for contempt of Congress, declined to speak on the record about the trial.

In June 2020, he appeared alongside Mr. Guo on a boat in New York Harbor to announce the formation of the New Federal State of China, which aimed to supplant the Communist government.

That August, Mr. Bannon was arrested on Mr. Guo’s yacht on unrelated federal charges of defrauding donors to a private fund-raising effort called We Build the Wall. He was pardoned by Mr. Trump in the final hours of his presidency but still faces similar state charges in New York.

As Chinese officials began to seize Mr. Guo’s properties and bank accounts in China and Hong Kong, Mr. Guo turned to those supporters to fund his opulent lifestyle, according to witnesses at the trial.

Mr. Guo was arrested at his New York penthouse in March 2023. Even after the dozen charges against him, he retained fervent followers around the world, dozens of whom showed up to watch the trial and await the verdict. Last week, his two most prominent Chinese supporters, the former soccer star Hao Haidong and his wife, Ye Zhaoying, once the world’s top-ranked women’s badminton player, were in the gallery among dozens of others. The New Federal State of China website posted daily trial transcripts in English and Chinese.

Mr. Guo, dressed in a dark double-breasted suit, sat expressionless as he listened over headphones to a translation of the judge reading the verdict. After the jury of eight men and four women was dismissed, he shook Mr. Kamaraju’s hand and hugged another of his lawyers.

The jury began deliberating on Thursday afternoon, but hit a snag on Friday when a juror was dismissed after conducting an internet search for information about one of Mr. Guo’s indicted co-conspirators, who is now a fugitive. The jury had to pause deliberations while an alternate was called in.

Three floors below their deliberations at the federal courthouse in Lower Manhattan, another jury was deciding the fate of Senator Robert Menendez, the New Jersey Democrat accused of bribery, obstruction of justice and other crimes. On Tuesday he was found guilty on all counts.

In a statement after the Guo verdict, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District, Damian Williams, said: “Thousands of Guo’s online followers were victimized so that Guo could live of a life of excess. Today, Guo’s schemes have been put to an end.”
