The Dragon Force 65 has undergone a major transformation to bring the quality and appearance up the high standard set by its bigger brother the Dragon Flite 95, without affecting the competitiveness of previous versions. New tooling for the hull sees an increase in hull strength while retaining the same shape and weight. Key rig fittings, the Gooseneck, Compression Strut, Masthead Fitting and Jib Boom front end fittings have been redesigned for maximum efficiency and easier assembly. The new version 6 now comes with 50 micron Mylar film sails with a clean new style. The improvements don't stop there, the digital rudder servo has been given a 10% boost in torque and improved electronics.

New Class Rules Effective 1/1/24

  2023 df95 coa regatta management manual   this guide is meant to provide both some required standards for all ranking regattas as well as some best practices. all clubs that plan to host a ranking regatta need to read and follow this manual. (1/15/2023) , joining the class association – apply to get a sail number – see below.  .

Sail Registry (Getting Assigned A Sail Number)       To get a sail number, review the sail registry page (click the sail registry tab above) and find an available number, fill out the online form (click the DF95 registration tab above) and request that number, submit payment via paypal from the bottom of the registration form. Then, please, be patient. I try to update the registry at least once a week (usually Thursday evenings) so it might be a few days before you hear from me. After, I register you and your number, you will receive an email verifying your sail number.

Description.

DF65 A+ Light Sails V1.2 Sparrow Sails is a high performance racing sails specially developed for the Dragon Force 65 from Joysway. This is a 35mic sail with carbon soft battens and stream lined designed patches. The V1.2 brings a new base mold with reviewed luff line on the main (-2mm) and added leach (+2mm). This enables a straighter mast setting.

*All sail suits come with class logo and luff wire standard (No country letters & Numbers).

The Joysway DragonFlite 95 V2 is a new 950mm Sailboat that delivers a truly "Race Ready" high performance sailing experience. 

Every aspect of the DragonFlite 95 V2 has been developed with very latest radio sailing  design concepts ,  construction , and  components  for a first-class radio sailing experience, right out of the box! --- at a fraction of the price of other models in the 1-meter class.

Everything needed to sail is included in the kit, all you need to do is add AA batteries and go sail!  

The DragonFlite 95 V2 uses cutting edge components not found in other manufactured RC Yacht models including: 

• Ultra-rigid Carbon fiber keel fin, advanced design keel bulb 
• Shroud less, keel step, one-piece carbon fiber mast 
• Durable Mylar Sails with all the necessary re-enforcements
• New Upgraded High Torque Sail Servo  for more refined control
• New Boat Stand Laydown Kit  to substantially reduce risk of high winds blowing over your boat                                                        

The DragonFlite 95 V2 is a yacht designed to be a convenient size, on and off the water. It’s light weight and long, narrow hull is designed to cut through the water with minimal drag; and give it the kind of light wind performance most other radio yachts can only dream of. The downside of this lightweight design approach would normally be an inability to perform in strong winds. The DragonFlite 95 has countered this by designing low aspect, lightweight rigs with careful sail plan development that underwent rigorous performance and functionality testing, to ensure perfect handling and balance. Even when the boat is overpowered it still remains easily controllable to windward and always has astonishing speed downwind with almost no tendency to ‘nosedive’. The unusual “kick” in the main boom is designed to prevent dragging in the water at extreme lean angles.

I sailed a 22’ Venture many years ago as a novice and decided to give RC a try. The DF95 was the first to show up in my search and am I glad! Mostly excellent assembly instructions except for one or two skipped steps in the documentation. First time out she handled beautifully with zero problems! I’ve even purchased a second one for the winter home. Highly recommended!

I’ve sailed full sized boats before but this was my first try at RC, it was a breeze! This seems to be a well designed and carefully thought out product. There was an error/omission of a step(s) in the instructions but otherwise they were well done and one small eyelet ring was missing from the parts. I can highly recommend this boat, even for newbies!

Excellent. The product arrived in less than a week, perfectly packaged. The instructions and photographs were very clear and complete and the assembly/rigging went very well. Not "easy" but doable with care and patience. She then had her maiden voyage in the community pool and worked extremely well. I am very happy with the product and the final result. Now off to the races.

N.H. attorney accused of embezzling pandemic relief funds surrenders yacht he bought with COVID money

An attorney in New Hampshire who was accused of embezzling pandemic relief funds — then buying a 65-foot yacht — is no longer under indictment, but he isn’t getting his boat back.

Robert M. Waters Jr. has surrendered the seafaring vessel to federal authorities as part of a civil settlement with the US attorney’s office in New Hampshire, which opted to dismiss the indictment and resolve the matter through civil litigation.

Waters had been indicted in August on charges of wire fraud, theft of government funds, and money laundering. He was accused of using $340,000 he had obtained from the US Small Business Administration through the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program in 2022 toward the $500,000 purchase of a 2008 Azimut 62 Evolution yacht called Alisa , according to court records.

Waters had misrepresented his plan for the funds, and the yacht had no legitimate business purpose, prosecutors said.

“Unfortunately, individuals like Mr. Waters attempted to inappropriately benefit from government programs aimed at aiding Americans and the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic,” US Attorney Jane E. Young said in a statement. “This Office and our law enforcement partners are working tirelessly to uncover this widespread fraud and recover these funds on behalf of American taxpayers.”

Young’s office announced the settlement Tuesday after fielding questions from the Globe about the case.

The settlement agreement stipulates that Waters and Westville Remarketing Inc., a motor vehicle wholesale company that Waters co-owns and that he used to secure the funds, continue to deny the allegations.

The US Marshal’s Service is preparing to auction off the yacht at a later date. The government will recoup all proceeds from the auction, plus another $150,000 that Waters agreed to forfeit as part of the settlement, according to a spokesperson for Young’s office.

Before he agreed to surrender the yacht, Waters had listed it for sale at $799,000, according to an online listing that advertised it as having three staterooms, three heads, and separate crew quarters, plus plenty of outside space for entertaining groups.

Waters was suspended from practicing law in New Hampshire state courts in December, then the US District Court in New Hampshire in January, according to court records . The indictment against him, which also was brought in the US District Court, was dismissed in late March.
