Seaward 23' sailboat "Catnip" is a well-maintained boat for easy & comfortable cruising. A complete factory refit was completed in 2011 including: a new teak & holly sole, restored gelcoat on the hull & deck, new mainsail, new running rigging, electric start outboard w/ cockpit controls, 2nd battery and charger added, and shore power and 110 added. In addition, a new head w/ dockside pumpout was installed and the bottom paint was redone in 2014. The boat is equipped with a 2011 Tahatsu 8hp outboard 4S engine. The trailer, which is a single axle galvanized trailer was fitted for easy ramp launch and retrieval. Surge breaks and new tires & wheel bearings were installed on the trailer in 2013...excellent working condition. The boat is currently located at Barkers Island Marina in Superior, Wisconsin. The boat has been kept in Ft Pierce, Florida and Eagle River / Superior Wisconsin. The boat was purchased in Florida through a private owner who had taken the boat to Hake Yachts where the complete factory refit was done in 2011. 1997 Seaward (Hake) 25 sailboat in excellent condition. We are the second owners and purchased the boat late last fall. It has been a fresh water boat and is in great condition. Includes a 15 hp Nissan outboard and an aluminum dual axle trailer with new aluminum wheels and tires last fall in excellent condition as well. We had a dream of learning to sail and unfortunately we just don't have the time as our situation has changed. Both the boat and motor have been used very little since new. Overall length is 53' with bow sprit and davits and she has a 6 1/2 ft draft. This clipper bow William Garden design is a classic blue water sailing boat, the full keel design making her sea kindly and stable. The teak interior is in very good condition and is comfortable, warm and cozy with spacious raised salon/galley area, carved teak doors and lots of storage and headroom. She has a new Dometic in box refrigeration unit in galley. Teak decks were removed and replaced with west system epoxy, a thick fiberglass deck added over the subdeck and helm has a beautiful teak wheel. New aluminum masts were installed 2015 as well as new engine wiring and mechanical gauges, starting batteries, new freshwater system and primary and secondary bilge pumps. Accommodations S-2 quality, famous for the quality of their boats. A rare center cockpit 30 footer. A great layout, and a quality boat. As you board the boat, you enjoy first the full canvas enclosure of the cockpit. Almost new, and custom designed by Boat Tailors, it surrounds the cockpit with windows and screens to provide all of the options and protection that you could ask. A great space that adds greatly to the usable space on the boat, Then going below, you notice the traditional look of the newer dark blue upholstery and the quality of the wood work. Starting forward, there is a vee berth. The vee berth, with the filler cushion, is partially open to the salon with a partial bulkhead. There is a large overhead opening hatch, and 2 opening ports. Each side has a shelf for your glasses etc., and reading lights on both sides. Next is the salon, with a centerline folding table. Both sides of the salon have shelves and storage behind the settees, and more storage under the seats. Moving aft along the starboard side, you find the head. It is a amazing head with a separate shower and tub stall (yes, an actual small tub). Roomy and light and very usable. The head extends aft past the companionway. Forward and to starboard of the companionway, we start with the galley. The galley extends along the port side of the passageway to the aft cabin. There is a 2 burner stove top, a S.S. sink and then the icebox. There is currently a microwave on the counter, and the current owner has put a small refrigerator next to it, on what is / was a seat for the nav table. Across from the galley and under the cockpit is the engine, with a completely removeable top, and 2 side panels for ease of access. As you progress down the passage, there are hanging lockers and lot of built-in storage along the side. The aft cabin itself is surprisingly large and airy. Lots of opening ports on 3 sides, plus a large opening hatch overhead. Generous berth, and more storage. Very comfortable cabin. 1986 17' seaward slipper 17
Seller's DescriptionGood shape 1986 seaward 17 slipper “tinkerbell”. Has new 2020 tohatsu sailpro long shaft outboard (4 stroke) new rigging lines , and newer tanbark sails (3 hank on jibs and one main). Has brand new porta potti and original cabin cushions in great shape. Has sail boom cover, Jib bag, and Tiller cover in maroon sunbrella. Black hull with classic look. Currently in winthrop harbor (you could use the rest of the season). Smallest sailboat in the marina but gets complimented on it’s “salty great looks” for a 17’ it has a wide 8’ beam and is great on the big lake. The new 6hp motor has an extra long shaft and high thrust prop. Don’t have to worry as it starts right up and sips fuel. Cabin has doube v-bearth and two mid bearths. Porta potti and small sink. We day sailed but some do over night in these. Trailer is clean with brand new wheels / tires (bearing new about 3 years ago) Ready to sail. includes safety items (radio, pdf’s, flares, and more) What it could use not all bright work revarnished. New DC panel installed but the running lights don’t work (cabin lights do work)ports and windows leak a little and could use rebedding. We have never dropped the centerboard in 5 years even on lake Michigan. Not sure if it drops the few inches as we never needed it. I was going to glass it in but lack of time did not. reducing price to what I have in it for engine, sails and safety equipment.
