Astondoa was founded in 1916 by Jesús Astondoa Martínez in Santa Pola, a small coastal town in Spain. Initially, the company focused on crafting wooden rowboats and small fishing vessels, catering to local fishermen. Over time, Astondoa's reputation for high-quality craftsmanship grew, and the company gradually expanded its range of offerings. By the mid-20th century, Astondoa had transitioned to using fibreglass, a more durable and versatile material, allowing them to build larger and more luxurious yachts.In the latter part of the 20th century, Astondoa shifted its focus to the luxury yacht market, becoming one of the leading names in European yacht manufacturing. Please note that the survey was done in two stages, afloat first and then on dry dock.   Here you will find the broken-down description: Exterior areas & elements: All the areas are well-maintained and are keeping the initial purpose, with no structural modifications or relevant changes. The spaces on the exterior deck are huge, mainly on the flybridge and forward area. The elements fixed on the deck are in good order in general, with no relevant corrosion or damage. The flybridge has a considerable awning that allows the crew to enjoy it in the shadows.  Interior areas & elements: The interior does not show a high level of use, and all the areas are kept as they were initially, using the same materials. There are no relevant changes or damages to report. The interior elements, such as the galley, TV, Sound System, lights, and others, are working as expected and without limitations. Technical Inspection: Propulsion System: The maintenance of Engines and generators is up to date. The number of hours is low, considering the boat\'s year. Electrical panels & Connections: The electrical system does not show any relevant modification, and it works entirely. Bow and Stern Thruster: Both are working according to their expectations. Mooring equipment: The yacht has a big anchor that allows safe anchoring. Cockpit and Flybridge control areas: The pilot areas, both the interior and the Flybridge, are fully operational. The electronics are working fine; however, it may be interesting to renew the screens for recent models. Dry Docking: The dry docking inspection showed no hull damage or hidden accidents, which could eventually affect navigation safety. The hull has a double coat of AF, recently applied (June 2024) - smooth surface. Anodes all of them renewed & all the through hull penetrations with no corrosion The conclusions for this boat are that the current owner has taken care of the relevant technical equipment and items and maintained its aesthetics. Technically, it is up to date, and no major refits or maintenance costs are expected. The boat is ready to use.

Astondoa AS 43 GLX equipped with twin Volvo Penta D6 IPS 500 engines, ‘La Dorada’ is a 2007 model built in 2006.

She has been meticulously maintained by her current owner and in August 2022 she has had numerous works completed, including engine oils, filters, antifouling, anodes and IPS drives serviced.

‘La Dorada’ started her life as Astondoa’s show boat in Florida USA. Being a show boat her specification is of the highest standard and includes Aircon, Heating, Passerelle, Pop up TV in the saloon, Pioneer Bluetooth Stereo, Fridge Freezer, Icemaker, Drop down TV in the master cabin, Raymarine Autopilot, Raymarine Radar, IPS Pod Drive, Yanmar Mase 10.2kw Generator, Electronic entry system, illuminated transom name, PLUS MUCH MORE.

Recent works include, new antifouling, new anodes, hull polish and new IPS drive.

• IPS props cleaned, inspected and anti fouled.
• Bow thruster prop upstaged to a 6 blade prop.
• 2 new transducers installed.
• All skin fittings, inspected and serviced as required.
• Heat exchanger end caps cleaned and painted.

• New trim tab anodes.
• New transom anodes.
• New gas strut to flybridge hatch.
• New check valve on the fresh water system.
• Port engine mounts, cleaned and painted.
• Horn wiring repaired.
• Flybridge speak controller cleaned and serviced.
• TV connections rewired.
• New engine oil and filters to both engines.
• Port engine, idler pulleys replaced.
• IPS drives serviced.

Sept 2021, Fitted new EVC displays on top helm as sun burnt out old one, fit ne EVC button control at top helm, Fit new steering Hub, Change filters

Oct 2021, Replace all 10 batteries

Dec 2021, replace new solenoid link actuator for battery link

Dec 2021, Fit new Float/pump for grey water system on showers and sinks

Jan 2022, New pre filter assembly ( Due to be completed )
