A Complete Guide to Playing Super Mario Bros Computer Game for Beginners
Super Mario Bros is one of the most iconic video games of all time, and it’s no surprise that this classic has made its way onto computers. If you’re new to the world of Super Mario, or if you’re just looking for some tips and tricks to help you master the game, then this guide is for you. In this article, we’ll cover everything from the basics of playing Super Mario Bros on your computer to advanced strategies for beating the game.
Getting Started with Super Mario Bros Computer Game
The first thing you’ll need to do is download an emulator that allows you to play classic Nintendo games on your computer. There are many emulators available online, but we recommend using Nestopia or FCEUX as they are both reliable and user-friendly.
Once you’ve downloaded your emulator, it’s time to download a ROM file for Super Mario Bros. ROM files are digital copies of game cartridges and can be found easily online with a quick search. Make sure to download a reputable source and avoid any malware or viruses.
After downloading your ROM file, open up your emulator and select “Open ROM” from the menu. Find the location where you saved your Super Mario Bros ROM file, select it, and click “Open.” You should now see the game loaded up on your screen.
Basic Gameplay Mechanics
The objective of Super Mario Bros is simple: navigate through levels filled with obstacles and enemies in order to rescue Princess Toadstool from Bowser. The game is split into eight worlds, each containing four levels.
Mario has a few basic moves at his disposal: he can run by pressing the right arrow key while holding down “B,” jump by pressing the up arrow key or “A,” slide down pipes by pressing down arrow key while standing on top of them, shoot fireballs by collecting power-ups, and more. It’s important to practice these moves in order to master the game.
Advanced Strategies for Beating Super Mario Bros
As you progress through the game, you’ll encounter more difficult enemies and obstacles, but there are a few strategies that can help you overcome them. One of the most important things to remember is to take your time. Rushing through levels will often lead to mistakes and unnecessary deaths.
Another helpful strategy is to use power-ups strategically. Collecting mushrooms will make Mario grow larger and allow him to take an extra hit before dying, while fire flowers allow Mario to shoot fireballs at enemies. Starman power-ups make Mario invincible for a short period of time.
Finally, it’s important to learn the patterns of enemies and obstacles in each level. This will allow you to anticipate their movements and avoid them more easily.
Super Mario Bros computer game is a timeless classic that continues to be enjoyed by gamers of all ages. With this guide, you should have a solid understanding of how to get started with playing Super Mario Bros on your computer, as well as some helpful tips for beating the game. Remember: practice makes perfect.

Lady Bow is the leader of the Boos of Boo's Mansion and a party member in Paper Mario . She is aided by her butler, Bootler . She is very strong-headed and a tad snooty due to her princess-like status in life, but is also kind-hearted in wanting to aid Mario so that he can save Peach and the world's wishes. Her name is derived from the word "bow," which, depending on pronunciation, may mean "ribbon" (referring to the bows she wears) or can refer to a type of gesture often done in reverence to royalty. It is also likely that her name is a pun on "Boo".
Bow and Parakarry are the only partners in Paper Mario that have appeared in both of the first two Paper Mario games. Vivian from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Dottie from Super Paper Mario similarly allow the player to avoid detection from enemies.

History [ edit ]
Paper mario series [ edit ], paper mario [ edit ].
In Paper Mario , seeing too much suffering caused by the Boo-eating monster Tubba Blubba , Lady Bow decides to have Mario defeat him. She has ordered the Boos to capture Skolar , the Star Spirit Mario is going to save, and uses it as leverage to get Mario to eliminate Tubba Blubba. Bow joins Mario after he solves the puzzles in Boo's Mansion. The main reason that she joins him at first is that Mario needs her help to defeat Tubba Blubba. After Tubba Blubba was defeated Bow remained true to her word and gave Skolar to Mario. She then decided to accompany Mario ("like it or not") for the rest of his adventure.
In Chapter 4, Lady Bow is referred to in a scribble by a Boo from Boo's Mansion , who is crazy about her. At the end of the game, a Boo from Boo's Mansion, maybe the one who posted the scribble, came to the party "to see Lady Bow dressed up in all her finery". He also thinks that Bow is prettier than Princess Peach . She is mistakenly referred to as " Lady Boo " when Mario reads the back of the notice board in Toad Town after the defeat of Bowser .
Lady Bow receives two letters at the Toad Town Post Office : one from Bootler wishing her safe, and the other one from the Boos at Gusty Gulch , thanking her for rescuing them from Tubba Blubba .
In battle, Bow can slap enemies with both her hand and, when ultra ranked, her fan. She can also protect Mario from attacks with her Outta Sight attack and, at super rank, can also try to scare away enemies with an ability called Spook . If she successfully blocks an attack, she covers her eyes much like other Boos. She is the only partner that is incapable of doing any damage to Bowser in his powered-up form. The same applies to the Crystal King , as well as the sixth battle with Jr. Troopa . Outside of battle, she can turn Mario invisible, protecting him from enemy attacks and hazardous obstacles. However, Mario cannot move while in this state. This ability must be used to gain access to Shy Guy's Toy Box .

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door [ edit ]
Lady Bow and Bootler make a cameo appearance in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door . They are taking a vacation at Poshley Heights after Mario defeats the Shadow Queen . She is quite glad to see Mario again. Earlier in Mario's adventure, a young Toad from Petalburg called Bow "the cutest Boo OF ALL TIME!!!"
Super Paper Mario [ edit ]
In Super Paper Mario , Lady Bow makes three cameos. Her first is at the beginning of the game; she, along with all the other partners from the first Paper Mario appeared in a photograph at Mario's house . Bow's second cameo was at Fort Francis . There is a poster of her and Bootler in one of Francis ' secret, password-activated rooms. Lastly, she appears as a Catch Card in the sixtieth floor of the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials within a treasure chest. Like all other partners, with the exception of Sushie , she has unused sprite data.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl [ edit ]
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl she appears as a Sticker that raises magic attack power by eight. It can only be used by Princess Peach and Princess Zelda .
Attacks [ edit ]
Note that the Action Command has to be executed perfectly to get the indicated amount of hits on the smacks.

- 1 Biography
- 2 Personality
- 3 Relationships
Boo was once a human girl, but she was killed by Mario when he ate a mega mushroom and stomped over Boo's town. The young girl came back to life as a ghost. King Boo took her under his wing and attempted to train her into a great ghost. Sadly, Boo didn't like the other Boos. Their pranks were far too mean and abusive for her. Boo did like a good prank every once and awhile, but these pranks seemed just pure evil to her. Boo ditched the Boo Clan, causing her to not complete her entire Boo training. She met the Toad gang shortly after, even meeting up with her future boyfriend, Dry Bones.
Boo has an upbeat and quirky personality. She is a very girly character, more girly that even the Princesses. Boo often giggles like a little girl when she sees something funny. She isn't necessarily dumb, but Boo isn't the brightest character on the series. This is because she is still young. Her ghost training wasn't complete either, due to her running away, therefore she couldn't use the four ghost powers. These powers are invisibility, walk through walls, metamorphisis, and prehinsile tongue, only possessing the latter. Boo is also brave and will stand up for what she believes in. She dislikes cruelty to any creature, making her somewhat of a pacifist.
Boo's friendly attitude has brought alot of friends to her. Dry Bones and her are the closest couple on the series and the most realistic. The two spend time together and keep their relationship a good one. The two are completely inseparable. Toad and Toadette brought her in once she ran from King Boo, similarly to Dry Bones. Toad and Boo have a good friendship and adventure together all the time. Toadette and Boo are good friends as they are the only two females of the group. Blooper, Petey , Steve, The Koopalings, and most other characters are on good terms with her. Her only enemies are King Boo, Mario, and Kamek. King Boo used her and she hates him for it. Mario is just a jerk to everyone and Kamek tries to ruin the gang's fun.
- Boo has never truly died on the seires, for she's a ghost, making her the only character to never die on The Toad Show. Despite Dry Bones being dead he can still die if his bones are destroyied.
- Boo is not the only one of her species, unlike Dry Bones.
- When she was human, Boo's name was Teresa.
- Boo is the only character to switch genders over the course of the series. She was originally a male character until ILVGwebmaster changed it to add more female characters.
- ILVGwebmaster thinks that most Boos are girls because in Super Mario Galaxy they fall in love with Mario. If the Boos are male that would either make them gay or have a VERY bad taste in women.
- Boo is afraid of Baseball players. Similarly Dry Bones has a fear of Football Players.

Madame Flurrie is a purple wind spirit and a character who appears as Mario 's third partner in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door . Being a former acting star, she has a rather eccentric diva-like appearance, with pointy and dark purple hair (in a style similar to Ludwig von Koopa ), gaudy jewelry, plenty of makeup and puffy lips.

Biography [ ]
Madame Flurrie, prior to the events of the game, was a famous actress. Due to this, she is somewhat emotional with her lines, frequently using heart symbols in her sentences. After her career ended, she moved to a luxurious home deep within Boggly Woods where she lived in seclusion.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door [ ]
Flurrie makes her astounding entrance.
Upon arriving at Flurrie's home in Boggly Woods, Mario finds that Flurrie won't leave her home as she doesn't have her prized necklace. With that in mind, Mario searches the woods to find it, and then meets the Shadow Sirens . He then battles them, and upon victory, receives the Necklace as Vivian accidentally drops it. With the necklace in hand, Mario goes back to the house and gives it to Flurrie. When she comes out of her room, a disco ball comes out of the ceiling with flashy pink lights, and romantic music plays, then she kisses Mario on the face (actually, the boot, as she doesn't respect Mario's desire to not be kissed as a thank you for retrieving her necklace) . She is asked by Punio to blow away an "invisible thing", for a tiny, hidden door Punies could enter. After a switch is pulled by Punio, Mario and his party, including their new ally Madame Flurrie, keep moving onward in their quest for the next Crystal Star .
After the events of the game, she is shown to have returned to acting and her career is doing better than ever. She now works alongside Doopliss in a play titled "Paper Mario" that tells the tale of Mario and his adventures with her during the game with Doopliss using his ability to play the role of Mario.
Super Paper Mario [ ]
Flurrie appears in Super Paper Mario as a Catch Card , like the other partners. However, her catch card is obtained by beating the Duel of 100 in Sammer Kingdom as this is the grand prize.
As a Partner [ ]
Outside of combat, Flurrie can use her signature attack, Gale Force , to blow objects out of place. This is used to find hidden passages and the lot throughout the dungeons of the game (though there are not very many areas you need to do this, outside of dungeons, which is a little disappointing, considering how much you use Baby Yoshi , Koops , or the other party members outside of combat or dungeons). This attack can also be used on nearby enemies to make them temporarily dizzy. This is helpful to sneak past or "first strike" an enemy.
During combat, Madame Flurrie uses some strange attacks and can take quite a few hits. Her first two attacks include Gale Force and Body Slam. With leveling up, she gains the two attacks, Lip Lock and Dodgy Fog.
The regular Body Slam technique is just a simple attack dealing minor damage at first, but can do 6 HP upon level 3. The useful Gale Force attack has the ability to blow the enemies away from the battle, making it handy if Mario has lost too much HP. Lip Lock is a useful technique that deals damage to enemies, and then it takes their hit points to add them to her own. It's a unique technique that can come in handy, allowing Flurrie to act as a tank for defense since she can simply keep refilling her HP whenever needed. The final move she can learn, Dodgy Fog, makes Mario dodgy for a few turns.

- According to the Puni Elder , Flurrie is a wind spirit.
- Madame Flurrie is useful for the fight against Bonetail due to her Lip Lock move dealing damage and healing herself and her Dodgy Fog move giving Mario the change to dodge Bonetail's attacks including the Megabreath.
- Flurrie's hair style strongly resembles Ludwig von Koopa 's hairstyle, and her head and facial features strongly resemble those of Wendy O. Koopa , as well as wearing a necklace, bracelets, and earrings much like Wendy's.
- During battle, Flurrie's attacks are very similar to Lakilester's attacks in the original Paper Mario (Gale Force to Hurricane and Dodgy Fog to Cloud Nine). She also shares Sushie's Belly Flop ability.
- The plot concept of retrieving Flurrie's necklace from an enemy and returning it to her before she joins Mario's party is very similar to how he retrieved Kooper 's shell in the first Paper Mario game.
