Memento Mori Shop Now Open in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort

I’m delighted to announce that Memento Mori, the Haunted Mansion -themed merchandise shop, is officially open in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom Park . You may recall reading about this new location in early September on the Disney Parks Blog . Once considered the abode of Madame Leota, this shop is the destination for a variety of Haunted Mansion Authentic merchandise created especially for Disney Parks .

If you are planning a visit, here are a few important things to know:

• There will be a purchase limit of six items per style, per guest, per day for products carried in the shop.
• The new Haunted Mansion open edition pins will be carried in both Memento Mori in Liberty Square and Frontier Trading Post in Frontierland.
• The Haunted Mansion-themed Dooney & Bourke bags will be released in Uptown Jewelers on Main Street, U.S.A. starting on October 6. They will not be found at Memento Mori or at Cherry Tree Lane at the Marketplace Co-Op in Downtown Disney Marketplace . For guests in California, the Dooney & Bourke bags will also be released on Monday, October 6 at Vault 28 in Downtown Disney District . There will be a purchase limit of two items, per style, per guest, per day.

Destinations: Walt Disney World Resort

Is the DB purse style from last year going to be available? I thought the article said it was going to be available, but it was not in the first batch released. Also, are there going to be more released as I was not able to get a purse. They were all sold out by the time I was able to get online.

Steven: I am SO happy to hear Memento Mori will be open in early December while Haunted Mansion will be closed! This whole time, I assumed it would be closed along with the ride, and now, reading this blog closed, you’ve literally made my day!! I am very excited to check out all the wares MM has to offer!!

Steven; Just got back home after attending the 2014 Food & Wine festival at Disney World and The first any only shop on my list to visit was Memento Mori! I was like a kid in a candy store I must have purchased almost everything they had in stock what a fantastic experience! I can’t tell you how long I waited for a Haunted Mansion collectibles store, the merchandise was just beautiful! I even took the photo where they turn your picture into a ghost what a blast that was! Disney got this one right on the money and it’s about time for us Haunted Mansion collectors I only hope Disney continues to create more amazing Haunted Mansion collectibles and to KEEP THIS STORE OPEN!!! and from what I saw the store was an instant hit with Haunted mansion fans and park guests people were excuse the pun….dying to get in….LOL!! Please tell the powers that be at Disney this store needs to stay open and thank them from all of us who love the Haunted Mansion and the collectibles associated with it.

@Marissa, I received an email from the Online Store saying they were only temporarily out of stock of the HM Plaque and should have them back in soon. Otherwise, they are available a the park. What I could not get an answer to was if it is in 1:1 scale with the park plaque or if it is smaller. The online store seems to indicate it is smaller by 1/2.

@Andrew – According to the arts & collectibles merchandise, the plaque measures approximately 12.75” x 22”.

Is the HM Plaque limited edition? It was online but sold out quickly and am going to WDW right after Thanksgiving so wanted to know if it will possibly be available in the park?

@Marissa – The plaque is not limited edition. Actually, most of the Haunted Mansion Authentic items are not limited edition which means that additional orders will be coming in the future. The item number for the plaque in question is 400008494588.

I didn’t know exactly when the Dooney & Bourke Haunted Mansion bags would be released, but I checked every day. When I checked yesterday afternoon they were all sold out. Now they don’t even show up on Disney’s Online store. Will there be another release online? I would really like the letter carrier.

Also, I’ve noticed there are Dooney & Bourke Food & Wine bags (Park only availability). Is there also going to be a Dooney & Bourke Flower & Garden release, I’ll be there next April! Thank you.

I got my HM tote bag at 1:47 am mst, but I almost missed it. The bags only showed up on the Haunted Mansion page not the Dooney and Bourke. I had been checking the D&B page since 1 am, but just happened to go to the HM page. Noticed the number of items at the top of the page was different than earlier in the day and decided to scroll down. Why was this? I wish they would take pre orders also. Why not sell all you can as long as it isn’t a limited edition item.

Last week I was told by merchandise guest services that the DB purses would be available on-line at midnight Central time on October 13th. I’m in the Eastern time zone so I refreshed the site from 1:00 am till 4:00 am when I was finally able to add the letter carrier and tote to my cart. Why can’t Disney take pre-orders?

The DB Haunted Mansion purses already sold out this morning. Will they be getting more stock online or is that it?

I looked online this morning and there were four haunted mansion DB purses – all sold out before I even got online…but none of them were the design from last year. I thought they were bringing that one back?

What happened to ORANGE BIRD and all the cute merchandise ??? ORANGE BIRD BELONGS in WDW. : ) !

I will be at WDW late November to early December. Will the shop be open then? I thought it would close with the HM after 12/1 to add the photo op for the ride?

@Andrew – The shop will be open then. I’ve never heard of it closing to add any photo op. There is a Spirit Photography experience that currently exists but it is not related to the attraction ride (it is, however, pretty cool).

I am pleased with the amount of items added to the online store though. I am very happy the placemats were online. The popular art never seems to be added though.

I too agree with Tyler. I am frustrated with Merchandise Guests Services–there are a LOT of restrictions: Frozen, Marketplace Co-Op, Haunted Mansion, Food/Wine (of these, food/wine is the only one they have lifted…)

Any chance the keychain will be available online?

@Jonathan – Sorry to hear of your disappointment. The Merchandise Guest Services team unfortunately doesn’t have access to all items. There are some things that have limited availability, or there are items that were designed specifically for Guests visiting Disney Parks first. I have worked with that team very closely for many years and I know they try their best to provide excellent service.

At this point, I don’t have a master list of all the items that will be added to the online store. I can say that the items are not limited edition and will be carried for awhile at Disney Parks.

I do have one more question! What time are items added on Mondays?

@Kristen – Items are typically added in the early morning hours between midnight and 6 a.m. I don’t have an exact time as to when thing appear as it may depend on number of items and other technical reasons.

I am very much looking forward to the DB purses coming out again. I have been stalking them for over a year now so I’ll be on the site early every Monday as you suggest to look for them. It seems like as soon as they pop up, they are sold out. I am a little disappointed that they have changed the inside from blood red to purple though. Any idea why they decided to do that?

@Michelle – It was a design decision that gives a direct nod to the colors of the Haunted Mansion. Purple seems to be a common theme in many of the art designs.

I’m so glad that they are now open, I’ve been waiting for the official opening date ever since I read about the new store. This will be one of my first shopping stops on the 9th when we visit Disney. I’m curious about the spirit photos. Is there a wait to get these photos done, is there a long lineup or are they available fairly quickly? Just trying to get an approximate time on how long we will need at the store.

Hi Steven, I tried calling Merchandise Guest Services to place an order on the HM Plaque as well as the Butler T shirt so that I could take advantage of my AP discount and was told online and in park only and that when it comes to HM it has the same status as Frozen. As someone who wants those items at the AP price before Halloween and lives in Seattle, do I have ANY options??

@Tyler – I’m sorry to hear of your challenge. Unfortunately, the Merchandise Guest Services team won’t have access to these items at this time. The good news is that many of these items are not limited edition, so they are planned to be carried for awhile at Disney Parks. I wish I had better news for you.

I was able to visit on Sunday during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and it is great! A spooky collection of Haunted Mansion memorabilia! And everyone is right about those spirit photos – they are to die for!

Great news about the Memento Mori store being open now. Does the store carry all of the HM items that are on the website now (maid & butler t-shirts, Hitchhiking Ghost figures, ornaments, etc.)? We will be there in about two weeks so would love to pick up some of the merchandise at the store.

@Sam – I hope you have a great trip! Yes, the Memento Mori shop is the place for all things Haunted Mansion. You’ll find many of the same items currently found on the Disney Parks online store.

@ Jason: Memento Mori loosely translates to “remember your mortality” and was associated with the Victorian cult of death, especially post mortem photographs. It is also a common inscription on tombstones, memorial jewelry, etc from that era. A creepy but cool name for the new shop.

The best things about the shop are the spirit photos and the special effects, but especially the photos. They’re amazing, and a bargain. I’m surprised they’re not even mentioned here!

Hi Steven hoping you can help me I am interested in the plaque on Disney store online they give a size of 12×8 but some people that I have talked to and bought it at Disneyland says is 23×13 is there two different plaques thanks for your time!

Saw that 4 new DB haunted mansion bags were released today, but what about the smith style one from last yr? Am I wrong when I thought that I saw on disneyparkblog that it is being re-released? If so when will it be? Also Disneyland twitter told me that I could call merchandise service to get a bag. Hmmm. Haven’t tried calling, seeing as I wasn’t sure if the one bag from last yr was available. that’s the one I love to get most.

Was there for the MNSSHP on Oct.2. There was a LINE to get in. Only allowing about 30 people in the store at a time due to the small size of the store. BUT it is a GREAT store with lots of great merchandise. All of the workers were very friendly and helpful. I got in at 11:30 with only about 10 people in line.

I was able to go into Memento Mori on it’s test days and it is a very cool little shop! I got my ghost photo and took some great merchandise home with me! And, I was told the eye on the sign moves or lights up at night!

Is there some backstory or significance for the name “Mori?”

I missed the opening by two days. 🙁 One of the cast members told us it was opening later in the week when we were leaving the parks on Saturday. There is going to be a Haunted Mansion themed ipad case, correct? That was the one thing I was excited to go looking for.

Ever since you posted the 1st news of this merchandise, I’ve had my eyes on the “Master Gracey” China! Seeing the 1st pics of it online after the soft opening last week have just made it more real. Just bought a ton of the 1st wave merch but I’m really hoping the china is sold online too! Not that an unplanned trip to Orlando isn’t out of the question either! My Haunted Mansion dining room won’t be complete without dishes! Thanks for FINALLY making products that make me proud to show my Disney Side again!

I just visited Disney World a week too early and unfortunately, all of the stores in the park/downtown Disney had pulled all of the haunted mansion merch in preparation for the store opening. I am ecstatic to see all of these items online, but was hoping to get the Haunted Mansion plates that Co-op pulled or the Beautifully Disney Haunted Mansion palette. Should I just try calling merchandise guest services or do I need a specific sku to get these items? Thanks so much for your help!

There’s nothing foolish about the new 2022 Haunted Mansion Merch designed for us mere mortals.

Our reporter, Ilana Robinson, spotted this new collection of macabre merch on a recent trip to the parks. (And, as far as we know, not a single ghost followed her home. Well, at least we hope they didn’t.)

If you’re a fan of hitchhiking ghosts, happy haunts, and a certain disembodied head with psychic abilities, you’ll want to hurry back to Disney World for some late-night shopping at World of Disney .

Mysteries of Memento Mori at Disney’s Magic Kingdom (Official Haunted Mansion Store)

If you’re looking for the perfect place to get your ghoulish charms in the parks, then be sure to visit Disney’s Memento Mori shop located inside the Magic Kingdom theme park.

Memento Mori is the Haunted Mansion-themed merchandise shop in Liberty Square that’s adjacent to the spooky attraction.

This is a place where hardcore   Haunted Mansion fans  can fulfill their ghastly shopping needs all the while catching a quick glimpse of the mysterious Madame Leota while in Memento Mori.

What Does Memento Mori Mean?

Just in case you didn’t know, Memento Mori is a Latin word that stands for Remember that you must die, which is a bleak way to start this guide on one of the Haunted Mansion’s most legendary stories.

However, Disney based their meaning of “Memento Mori” on the Victorian-era definition that told people “to live life to the fullest as everyone is mortal.”

So, I can definitely relate more to the second meaning of this word.

What is Memento Mori at Disney World?

Memento Mori is known as the “Haunted Mansion” store at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

Its shop is filled with mementos, trinkets, and souvenirs that surround the mysteries of the ghastly fan-favorite attraction.

Backstory of Memento Mori at Disney World

Legend has it that Madame Leota, a medium, was the former resident of Memento Mori where she kept many of her dear trinkets.

The charming abode was built near Gracey Manor in upstate New York as refuge from the Salem Witch Trials.

After she “disappeared,” she left all her treasures and relics inside the shop that still stands today.

According to Disney, the name of this spirited shop was inspired by a gravestone found in the graveyard scene inside The Haunted Mansion.

History of Memento Mori at Disney World

Memento Mori replaced the Yankee Trader shop on October 6, 2014.

Before this change, you would only be able to get Haunted Mansion merchandise from the online Disney store or the kiosk outside of the attraction.

Madame Leota outdoor kiosk was designed like a traditional Romani Wagon.

This cart was inspired by the undeveloped original Disney concept, Museum of the Weird, which I discussed in the 49 Top Secrets of the Haunted Mansion.

Shop Design and Features of Memento Mori at Disney World

As you approach the shop from the side of the Haunted Mansion, you’ll notice the mysterious eye appearing on top of the shop name.

This quaint shack will entice you to come in as Disney Cast Members greet you in their unique butler and maid garbs.

Hipster Power Tip: Look form the Madame Leota-inspired broaches that are worn by female Disney Cast Members.

Memento Mori Merchandise at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Inside Madame Leota’s shop you’ll be able to find some pretty cool Haunted Mansion-inspired gifts such as:

Spooky Memento Mori Photo

When the shop first opened, you had the option to make yourself into a Haunted Mansion haunt.

This was done through the Spirit Photography experience inside Memento Mori. Upon completion of your deathly participation, you’d be given an 8″ x 10″ ghostly picture.

While your photo was being taken, you’d hear stories about the characters on the wallpaper and how your picture was magically being created.

Unfortunately (as of October 2019) the Spirit Photography experience is no longer available at this time according to a Disney Cast Member that I spoke with on my last visit.

How Much was the Memento Mori Spirit Photography at Disney?

The cost for this Haunted Mansion-inspired photo ranged from $20-$25 . It was definitely not too bad for a Disney souvenir.

Hipster Power Tip: If you stay at a Disney Resort Hotel, then you’ll be able to get your purchased items from Memento Mori sent to your hotel room for free.

Top 9 Hidden Memento Mori Secrets and Facts at Disney World

While you’re visiting the shop, be sure to look out for all of the spooky little things happening around.

• Look for Madame Leota’s beautiful portrait and make note of the changes that occur…especially with the eyes around here
• Find the Daguerreotype Camera that’s uses to take Spirit Photos
• Watch out for the “Bottled Spirits ” on the shelves in the shop
• Find the mirror inspired by Madame Leota’s broach …you may get a special appearance by her
• Ask the Cast Members if they’ve noticed any strange happenings around the shop and wait for their answers
• Look for an image of Madame Leota’s Spellbook inside Memento Mori
• If you listen quietly , you may hear the voice of Madame Leota
• As you enter or leave the shop from the front entrance, make sure the “eye” outside the building does not follow you home
• Catch a mention of Memento Mori and Madame Leota on the hit ABC series, Once Upon a Time (you can find this mention in Season 7 Episode 11 )

My Final Thoughts on the Memento Mori Shop at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

The Disney Team did an incredible job in incorporating the classic Victorian charm of the Haunted Mansion over to Memento Mori.

The mystery felt in this little shop makes it a Magic Kingdom must do for any fan of this spirited franchise!

On your next visit to the Magic Kingdom theme park , be sure to get all your favorite Haunted Mansion merchandise at Memento Mori.

Remember that it is located near the entrance/exit of the ride with hours based on the theme park hours.

Frightfully Delightful Haunted Mansion Collection Arrives at Memento Mori

It’s all treats and no tricks as Disney unveils its latest collection of The Haunted Mansion- inspired merchandise.  This new collection is now at Memento Mori (the Haunted Mansion gift shop) in Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom.  Whether you’re planning for Halloween or the movie premiere of The H aunted Mansion later this month, you’ll want to stock up on the new Haunted Mansion collection which includes ears, Spirit Jersey, Crocs, and more! 

Let’s dig into this collection, shall we!? 

First up is what just might be my favorite pair of mouse ears EVER!

Instead of a bow, you get some ominous eyes peering at you!

Screen art on the soft padded ears features the front gates of The Haunted Mansion with the tagline “Welcome Foolish Mortals.” 

The other side features iconic images from the attraction including Madame Leota, the Ghost Bride, and more!

The backside of the ears features the eyes against solid black ears for an extra spooky look! 

The headband itself features the same simulated leather. 

Inside, the ears are lined with a soft light blue velour for a comfy fit. 

The ears retail for $34.99.  Again we found these beauties at Memento Mori in the Magic Kingdom but you can also get them at shopDisney here . 

Next up is some spooktacular footwear! Check out these colorful Haunted Mansion Crocs!

The Crocs feature an allover Haunted Mansion design inspired by the beloved Disney attraction.  As an added bonus, you also get a ton of Jibbitz with your Crocs including Madame Leota, the Caretaker, the Bride, the Hitchhiking Ghosts, and the Black Cat. 

The Crocs retail for $54.99. In addition to Memento Mori, you can also find the shoe online at shopDisney here . 

Included in the collection is some pretty awesome apparel including this fabulous women’s sleep set. 

The 100% cotton set features a short-sleeved t-shirt and coordinated shorts!

Both feature a colorful print that features some of our favorite Haunted Mansion friends including Madame Leota, Constance Hatchaway, Hatbox Ghost, Dickens, Silas Crump, the Hitchhiking Ghosts and more! 

You’ll also want to whip out those backlights as we’re told that the pajama set features a black-light reactive print! 

Here’s a look at the matching trousers which feature a purple drawstring elastic waistband.

Madame Leota stans, rise up!

This purple t-shirt features an image of Madame Leota with the tagline “Knower and Seer of all!” 

This women’s shirt is not currently available at shopDisney. 

It’s available at Memento Mori in Liberty Square for $34.99. 

Spirit Jersey fans will definitely want to pick up this new Haunted Mansion version. 

The bluish-grey Spirit Jersey features a small Haunted Mansion logo on the front. 

The back of the Spirit Jersey reads “There’s Always Room for One More” in a large shoulder-to-should print. 

The bottom back of the Spirit Jersey features an image of the Hatbox Ghost, Mummy, and Constance Hatchaway. 

One of the coolest features of this Spirit Jersey is that it actually glows in the dark!

All of those wickedly wonderful details come to life when the lights go out!

The Haunted Mansion Spirit Jersey is available at both Memento Mori and online at shopDisney .

Next up is a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt featuring a fun Haunted Mansion print. 

The allover striped design features some mysterious yet iconic artifacts you’ll encounter on the ride.  

The front of the tee also features a front chest pocket with the Haunted Mansion logo!

The t-shirt is available both at Memento Mori and online . 

You can pick yours up for $39.99. 

Next up is one of my favorite items in the new Haunted Mansion Collection. Check out The Haunted Mansion glow-in-the-dark dress for women!

The dress features an allover glow-in-the-dark print that pays homage to the mansion’s iconic wallpaper.   Dramatic white collar and cuffs give the dress a retro feel. 

The button-down dress features a gathered skirt. 

The collar also reads “Tomb Sweet Tomb” in purple embroidery. 

The dress retails for $69.99 and is available at both Memento Mori and shopDisney. 

All “eyes” will be on you when you wear this  The Haunted Mansion ball cap!

The hat features the same striped print as the glow-in-the-dark t-shirt. 

It also features the Haunted Mansion logo on the front. 

The back of the baseball cap features mesh netting. 

A patch on the back of the hat also reads “Foolish Mortals.” 

Underneath the brim of the hat is one of my favorite features!

Those ominous glowing eyes are set against a black background for an extra bit of fun glow-in-the-dark detailing!

As of going to print, The Haunted Mansion baseball cap is only available at Memento Mori where it retails for $29.99. 

Those who like to travel light are sure to love this haunted mansion pouch. 

Perfect for carrying just the essentials, the bag features an image of a Haunted Mansion gargoyle on the front. 

The bag features an adjustable strap and the backside has the same striped design featured on the ballcap and t-shirt. 

Add some spooky details to your home decor with this Haunted Mansion canister. 

The ceramic jar features a blue lid. 

The exterior features famous images from The Haunted Mansion attraction.

Disney’s Haunted Mansion features an abundance of product placement throughout its run, which varies from the subtle to the blatantly obvious.

• Disney's Haunted Mansion is full of product placement, which has been criticized for distracting from the film's important elements.
• Popular brands like U-Haul, BMW, Dell, Flutterbye, Zillow, and Tito's Handmade Vodka make appearances in the Disney movie.

Disney's Haunted Mansion is littered with product placement throughout its run. Product placement is a common occurrence in cinema and often provides essential funding for the movie. However, audiences and critics alike have commented on the excessive product placement in Haunted Mansion , which distracted from the more important elements of the film.

Disney's Haunted Mansion features an ensemble cast in an adaptation of one of its most iconic rides. It stars LaKeith Stanfield as Ben Matthias, an astrophysicist tasked with dispelling the titular mansion's ghosts, and Rosario Dawson as the mansion's new owner. Despite some criticism of its use of product placement, there is still speculation of a Haunted Mansion 2 .

A U-Haul trailer can be seen repeatedly throughout Haunted Mansion 's opening sequence. It first appears as Ben is beginning his walking tour. It's later seen turning a corner midway through the tour, as Ben is asked if the nearby buildings are haunted. The U-Haul trailer is then seen pulled by a red car during the New Orleans funeral parade before ferrying Gabby and Travis to the titular haunted mansion.

During the opening credits of Disney's Haunted Mansion , Gabby and Travis are shown traveling to their new home. The car they are driving is a red BMW. This is depicted rather explicitly in several shots during the movie's opening.

Throughout Haunted Mansion , Ben repeatedly uses a Dell laptop. The electronics manufacturer's logo can be seen on the laptop behind Father Kent (Owen Wilson) after he lets himself into Ben's apartment. Ben subsequently uses this laptop to monitor the cameras placed in the mansion, and it is later seen during the séance scene. Interestingly, Disney already has ties to Dell, using Dell technology to animate Frozen (via Dell Blog ).

26 Flutterbye

When Ben first arrives at the haunted mansion, he is introduced to Travis, who is hiding inside a tent. One of the toys Travis throws out of the tent is a Flutterbye doll from Spin Master. The Flutterbye toy, designed to spin and fly into the air, is modeled after Disney's Tinkerbell. There is a whole range of Disney characters released by Spin Master under the Disney Fairies range.

25 Black Panther

Another toy featured in Haunted Mansion is a Black Panther action figure. It sits outside of Travis' tent during Ben's initial visit to the mansion. Black Panther , along with all other Marvel properties, has been owned by Disney since 2009. Its inclusion in Haunted Mansion promotes one of Disney's successful movie franchises and its merchandise.

Zillow is a popular real estate website based in the U.S. It is referenced directly in Haunted Mansion, when Gabby is introducing Ben to Travis. Discussing their move to New Orleans, Gabby comments on the mansion, stating, "I found this place on Zillow." Interestingly, Disney has started selling real-estate properties in a neighborhood on its Orlando site called Golden Oak. Several Golden Oak properties listed on Zillow .

23 Pentax Camera

Repeatedly during Haunted Mansion , Ben uses a modified camera to take photographs of ghosts. The camera used is a model produced by the camera manufacturer Pentax. The Pentax camera features heavily throughout Haunted Mansion , and it's used in several key scenes, including the séance and inside Ben's house when he first discovers ghosts.

22 Fujifilm

Throughout Haunted Mansion , Ben uses his phone as a screen for his camera. This is done using the Fujifilm Camera Remote app. Ben uses it to monitor and display his spectral photography numerous times, most notably when he is attempting to photograph the ghosts in his own home.

21 Tito's Handmade Vodka

After Ben returns from the mansion for the first time, he attempts to watch a documentary about ghosts, but the channel keeps changing to a fishing program. As the camera pans across the television toward Ben, there is a brief glimpse of his drink trolley. One of the bottles is Tito's Handmade Vodka. This is a fitting choice for product placement in Haunted Mansion , as it is served in various cocktails at Disney Resorts (via AllEars.Net ).

20 Budweiser

A bottle of Budweiser beer is also visible atop Ben's drink trolley, and another is visible on his coffee table when he photographs his sofa. Since 2008, Disney has been mounting yearly Disney On Ice productions. Every year, they appear at the Budweiser Gardens arena in London, Ontario. At the time of Haunted Mansion 's release, Budweiser Gardens had begun advertising for Disney On Ice: Into the Magic .

19 Jose Cuervo Tequila

Another alcoholic beverage spotted in Haunted Mansion is Jose Cuervo tequila. The Mexican liquor is also nestled on Ben's drink trolley as he attempts to watch the ghost documentary. Jose Cuervo tequila's distinct bottle is one of the few discernable in Haunted Mansion and is also served across Disney Resorts.

When Ben first starts believing in ghosts and is tormented by a spirit in his home, he uses his camera to take a picture of the ghost sitting on his sofa. When the flash triggers, a bag of Fritos can be seen on the coffee table. Since 2002, Frito's manufacturer, Frito-Lay, has had a sponsorship agreement with Disney (via The Walt Disney Company ). Frito-Lay's products can be purchased across all Disney parks and sponsor several rides.

17 Marvel Comics

More of Disney's Marvel properties are used during the "Superstition" montage in Haunted Mansion . As Father Kent explains his plan, he places two Marvel action figures on a table. The first is Namor, who appears in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ; and the second is a 1990s-era Storm from The X-men, who will feature in Marvel's animated reboot, X-men '97 . Ben later plays with a Doctor Strange figure, poorly imitating it flying while talking to Travis.

16 Monopoly

Hasbro's Monopoly is also featured in Haunted Mansion 's "Superstition" montage. It is held and played with by Travis while Ben mounts cameras on the mansion's walls and the pair discusses Travis being chased home by other children. It is a Marvel Comics Collector's Edition, promoting Disney's own toy range beneath the Hasbro umbrella.

Yelp is a customer review platform mentioned by Father Kent during the "Superstition" montage. Father Kent is discussing Harriet's psychic abilities, and he says, "She's been doing readings at Bar Mitzvahs but gets a very solid Yelp score." Likewise, Disney's various locations have very solid scores on Yelp.

14 Benihana

Also appearing in Haunted Mansion 's "Superstition" montage is the restaurant chain Benihana. The restaurant's name is obscured slightly, but the chain's distinctive chef outfits and unique table-side grills are on full display. It appears during Bruce's (Danny DeVito) explanation of the mansion's history, with the chef flicking food into Bruce's mouth. As mentioned by Bruce, Benihana's is known for its happy hour, and it also has a restaurant at Disneyland Orlando.

13 Yankee Candle

Yankee Candle is a popular candle maker that specializes in scented candles. One appears during Haunted Mansion 's séance scene and is referenced directly by Harriet. As she begins the séance, Harriet gestures to the candle and remarks, " And just to confirm, the only thing we have available to us is this French Vanilla Yankee Candle? "

After Harriet questions the use of a Yankee Candle, Gabby replies, "Yeah, I keep forgetting to cancel my subscription to Amazon." It is one of the most blatant instances of product placement in Haunted Mansion , referring to Amazon's repeat subscription service. Amazon also has entire departments dedicated to selling Disney products and merchandise.

Another unsubtle product placement occurs during the Haunted Mansion séance scene. Harriet refers to CVS Pharmacy, saying, "If you have a message that you'd like to leave us, or a greeting of sorts, here's a pen and pad that I purchased from CVS." CVS is one of the many outlets where Disney sells toys and merchandise.

10 Chevrolet

Vehicles manufactured by Chevrolet appear a couple of times in Haunted Mansion . The most notable example is the ambulance that takes Bruce to the hospital after he's violently ejected from the mansion and hit by a truck. Disney has had a long-time partnership with Chevrolet since the 1940s.

This will give viewers a vibrant new take on the movie as they watch a group of monster hunters compete in a deadly competition for a powerful relic.

Also streaming Halloween classics "Hocus Pocus" and "Nightmare Before Christmas" celebrate their 30th anniversaries. "Halloweentown" celebrates its 25th anniversary, and the complete collection of "The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror" will be available.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Brings Back Haunted Mansion Bundle

• The Haunted Mansion bundle is back in the Premium Shop for a limited time, featuring two spooky design options for players' homes in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

• Players should act quickly to purchase the bundle as it does not specify how long it will be available, and it is expected to be popular during the Halloween season.

The Haunted Mansion recently pulled a disappearing act, but it's now back in Disney Dreamlight Valley for a limited time during the Halloween season. The life sim set in the world of Mickey Mouse and his friends is still expanding, giving players a chance to build a home and explore a growing valley full of Disney characters. Over the summer, Disney Dreamlight Valley unveiled a new realm and characters , which added more magic and joy to the world. That doesn't mean it can't get in the spirit of ghosts and scares, however.

Among the premium content players can purchase in Gameloft's Disney title is a series of Dream Styles for homes, allowing fans to give their houses new looks or even add a secondary home in the game. This past September, a Haunted Mansion bundle was introduced, giving players a chance to get ready for October and Halloween. Unfortunately, a frustrating bug popped up, causing problems for some who purchased the bundle and forcing Gameloft to remove it from the shop. While the Haunted Mansion issue was fixed in Disney Dreamlight Valley for those who bought it, the bundle remained absent from the shop.

In an announcement on October 7, the Disney Dreamlight Valley team revealed that the Haunted Mansion bundle has made its triumphant and spooky return to the premium shop. Only available for a short time, the bundle includes both a traditional Haunted Mansion design and one inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas which features lots of Christmas lights and even a jack-o-lantern wearing a Christmas hat.

The Haunted Mansion bundle is currently available in the Premium Shop and includes:

• Haunted Mansion Haunted "Before Christmas" Mansion Player House Dream Style

The message doesn't specify just how long this bundle will be available, so fans who are eager to celebrate Halloween will want to jump into the shop and check it out as soon as possible. Disney Dreamlight Valley is giving away an Autumn bundle for free at the moment as well so, between the two, players should be all set for the changing seasons in the world of Disney.

As horror fans' favorite holiday approaches, gamers will be figuring out how to complete Trick or Treat Dreamlight Duty in Dreamlight Valley and other seasonal challenges in the game. Now, they'll be able to plan their adventures from the comfort of their very own haunted mansion. They'll even have a special variation that will be appropriate as Halloween ends and the Christmas season approaches. Whichever version players choose to opt for, this is a bundle that should be popular in the coming months.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available in early access on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Haunted mansion is now on disney+, but i'm annoyed two underrated spooky disney films are still missing.

Disney’s new Haunted Mansion movie wasn’t a box office hit; in fact, it's actually a bigger flop than the Eddie Murphy version based on its theatrical release. However, the new Haunted Mansion is, without question, a better film than its 2003 predecessor, and that’s something that more people will become aware of now that the movie is available to stream on Disney+ .

As somebody who loved the new Haunted Mansion movie and all its references to the Haunted Mansion attraction I also enjoy, I certainly hope the movie finds the fans it deserves on Disney+. However, as somebody who apparently has something of a habit of loving spooky movies from Disney , the fact that there are now two Haunted Mansion movies streaming on the service makes it that much more annoying that there are two excellent and underappreciated Disney “horror” movies that you still can’t watch on the Mouse House's streaming service.

Something Wicked This Way Comes Is The Perfect Gateway To Horror

In 1983, Disney adapted Something Wicked This Way Comes, a novel by Ray Bradbury. In the early ‘80s, Disney was in a difficult period as a studio. The company’s most recent animated features had failed to find much of an audience, and nothing the company did in live-action had ever really worked. An attempt was made to go against the traditional image and try to make movies with more mature themes, and Bradbury’s novel seemed like a perfect fit.

The story focuses on two young boys who realize something is amiss when a carnival comes to town that's led by the not-subtly named Mr. Dark, played by a younger and relatively unknown Jonathan Pryce. The film is by no means a horror movie; there’s more frightful imagery on the screen than most Disney films, but it’s still tame by even contemporary horror standards.

The movie was also plagued by production issues, which resulted in director Jack Clayton, who had been suggested as director by Bradbury himself, being taken off the project. There’s a version of the film the world will probably never see, and yet the version we have isn’t without its own charms. The feeling that a great horror movie gives you permeates the film, as it feels dark and disturbing from the start. At least, that’s what I remember, as it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to watch it.

I remember just how the movie unnerved me. There was nothing overtly terrifying on the screen, but there was a feeling of menace that I found hard to shake even after it was over. My own kids are a bit too young for scary movies, but when they get old enough for them, this is where I'd like to start.

The Watcher In The Woods Is Disney At Its Weirdest

Three years before Something Wicked This Way Comes , Disney produced a film called The Watcher in the Woods , which is possibly creepier, absolutely stranger and, without a doubt, more fraught with issues. The film is even more of a cult classic, as the general critical consensus is that it isn’t very good, but where else are you going to find a Disney movie where Bette Davis plays the village crazy lady?

The Watcher in the Woods focuses on two young girls whose parents move them to England, where something strange seems to be happening. Years before, a young girl disappeared in the local woods, and the girls see an apparition of a blindfolded girl in the same woods. Davis plays the missing girl’s mother in what would be one of her final roles.

The Watcher in the Woods was so critically panned upon its initial limited release that the movie was pulled from theaters in New York and the ending was reshot. Still, it’s not like it would be the only movie available to view on Disney+ that wasn’t a massive hit, and there are those who have fond memories of the film regardless of its alleged quality. For many, it was the first scary movie they had ever seen.

Why Are We Still Missing These, And Other Films, On Disney+?

Not seeing these 40-year-old films on Disney+ is, unfortunately, not all that surprising. While Disney+ does better than some streaming services when it comes to listing older material (there are almost 100 years of cartoons to be found, after all), there is still a lot of content that has never been added to Disney+ , and the older it is, the more likely it is to be MIA.

There are some reasons why this might be the case. Much of this older material may only exist in a format that is not easily upload-able to Disney+. A lot of the stuff you can’t find on Disney+ has never been seen on DVD, much less Blu-ray, and so it certainly takes time to convert media to digital formats. With that comes upscaling it or otherwise updating it to make decades-old TV or movies still look as good as possible on modern televisions.

That’s not the case when it comes to these films, however. Something Wicked This Way Comes and Watcher in the Woods were both released on DVD and even on Blu-ray (though there’s some question regarding how much was done to actually upscale the movie for the HD format). But even so, there’s plenty of older movies and shows on Disney+ right now that hasn’t been upconverted to look as beautiful as possible.

Now would be the perfect time to see movies like Something Wicked This Way Comes and Watcher in the Woods added to Disney+. It is the spooky season, after all, and the platform has a lot of great content for Halloween that will still give you the atmosphere you’re looking for without being truly terrifying.

The new Haunted Mansion is a fantastic addition to DIsney+ , and its October release is all but certain to get the movie more viewers than it got during its summer theatrical release. It’s the perfect blend of humor and horror, just like the Disneyland ride that inspired it. But there are some Disney movies that would be even better to watch on Halloween , and I hope that someday soon we actually get to see them.

Dear Friends,

We are happy to invite you to the next art salon, where we show Russian and Soviet art of the 20 th  century.

As always, we can offer a glass of wine and a cup of coffee.

This time we show some new acquisitions, painted by Natalia Gippius and Konstantin Lekomtsev – These two artists are also featured at our exhibition “Soviet Moscow” at the Andriaka Academy of fine arts (closes April 21).
