Le Yacht Club Restaurant

A rollicking mediterranean cruise.

I try to avoid “trendy” restaurants in Paris because the noise levels are generally high and the food standards low. But when asked to choose a place for a reunion of a group of friends, I decided to give the brand-new Yacht Club a chance.

It turned out to be the perfect place for us with its rollicking atmosphere and – surprise! – great food. It was a bit noisy, it’s true, but not excessively so for those in a celebratory mood. The live piano music right next to us contributed to the noise, but it wasn’t overwhelming.

The Yacht Club has taken the place of Jean-Frédéric Guidoni’s restaurant Jean, a former standard-bearer in Paris. Although it’s far from any port, the decor in pale blue and white has a seaside feel, and the shark’s head sculpture on the wall is straight out of the film Jaws.

The servers were all charming and professional in this extra-large (for Paris) restaurant with Mediterranean influences (the owners, Luc Sananes and Olivier Chini, are also the proprietors of Les Niçois).

We were advised to order two dishes apiece, but we quickly overshot that goal after sampling and loving the first round. A great favorite, quickly reordered, was the matchstick fries with Parmesan, thyme and truffle oil, but we also loved the razor clams with garlic and parsley, Iberian ham, butternut squash with toasted hazelnuts and hazelnut oil, crispy squid with tomato sauce, sautéed gambas with lemon juice and Kampot pepper, Sardinian fregola, cheese croquettes and deep-fried octopus with tomato sauce. The only thing that was good but not out of the ordinary was the feta cheese. The one vegetarian at our table was able to choose from six options, which the meat-eaters also enjoyed.

Eating at the Yacht Club was a good lesson for me: forget your a prioris and try everything! I’m looking forward to going back and hope I will have as much fun as I did the first time thanks to the food, the servers and my friends.

I’m not so sure that the photo is of Sardinian Fregola. It looksmore like Malloreddus.

You’re right, it does. Malloreddus, by the way, is Sardinian gnocchi.

Cocktails, brunch and fiesta at the Yacht Club

Les Niçois are back on track! After their amazing restaurant-pétanque in the 11 th , the Southern team  has thrown its anchor at Notre-Dame-de-Lorette in a giant brasserie that has the feeling of  2.0 furiously cool two level Love Boat. Immediate boarding in this new highly trendy bar/restaurant that also features a very secret club très hidden in the hold where incredible fiestas take place at the end of the week…

But let’s start with the beginning. On the menu ? A sweet Med scent : sea knives à la plancha (€10), crispy squid (11€), grilled lamb chop (€13) , cheese nuggets (€9), beef balls with yogurt sauce (€9) and it continues with a yummy baba au rhum and almond cake (€7 each). Naturally there is always a nice fresh bottle of  rosé est and the cocktails are real « boosters» starting with the Spritz XXL (€12) and Sir Mojito (€11)…

Special kudos for the absolutely amazing decor from floor to ceiling: wood, graphic floor, steel blue quilted banquette, wicker armchairs. And for the extra twist, fishing trophies, live saving buoys and a very life-like shark jaw on the wall—really good shots on Instagram. #jaws

Tip top, since they are good captains, Olivier Chini and Luc Sananes have also planned a kids-friendly brunch with nanny every weekend. Scrambled eggs, sweet and salty pancakes, red tuna gravlax (€30 per adult, €17 for kids). Hop on board !

Open Monday to Friday from noon to 2am, Saturday from 11:30am to 2am; Sunday from 11:30am to 5pm.

A l'abordage, cap sur Paris !

Olivier Chini et Luc Sananes, ou l’équipe des Niçois, mettent les voiles et ouvre le Yacht Club, version parisienne d’un resto de plage. Une grande bicoque de 300m2 sur deux niveaux, où le bois verni s’accord au bleu ciel dans un style mi colonial, mi Cap-Ferret. Vieux carrelage mosaïque, chaises en rotin cannées, plantes vertes et banquettes turquoise, cette brasserie chic verse dans le beau rétro, sans en faire trop. Humeur partageuse en grandes tablées autour d’un poulpe croustillant, de couteaux à la plancha, de croquettes crousti-fondantes aux trois fromages et de balbutiants gnocchis au pesto sauce parmesan. La carte est résolument méditerranéenne, et les cocktails sentent bon le Sud. Évadez-vous en mer le temps d'un verre ou d'un repas.

Was outside on the terrace and the view is super of, of course, the marina. I had the Fruits de Mer and it was excellent and generous. Service was good, helpful, not quick but then it was summer and a relaxed lunch. Will definitely return... as this is so different and calmer than the other restaurants. More

Super friendly staff, exceptional wine list and sommelier. The seafood was good but not exceptional and certainly not cheap. The view on the harbour at sunset is amazing

Food at this place is decent and for lunch the daily deal is okay value. The main reason for choosing this place is the view that is excellent. The service was typical French and slow. The area La Grande Motte is nothing special so nothing... I would miss here. More

Service is not enough The location is good…the service was very good…the wine was overpriced.. I had the fish and it was ok…my wife had the chicken and it was horrible….almost unedible… The dessert was below average and pretensious… And way too expensive for what... we got… More

Bad serving in the bar. Ignoring people and serving his own people. Buying 1 beer and takes 15 minutes to get it. Meanwhile bartender serving all others....

Very good food.....when it eventually arrived! Restaurant was not particularly busy being a Wednesday. Ate outside with lovely views of Port and Yachts Chose “Plat du Jour”. Lovely Salmon Rillette starter. Pork to follow. All very good but service was very slow on everything.

We had lunch for mother's day at the Yatch Club. We opted for the €55 special menu. We were served a cheap foie gras as a starter. The main course was a risoto. It looked and tasted like an overcooked rice soup. Service as OK.... THe view from eh terrasse is lovely though. Overall this place is largely overpriced, food is terrible. More of a tourist trap than anything. More

First thing to say is the food was very good, high quality and tasty. However you would expect this given the price and the service was very poor. When we went it was not busy and there were plenty of staff, but here is the... problem, we were not served by the same person twice. We repeatedly had to make the same requests againa and again, drinks coming after food for example. For the wine we were not allowed to see a menu, instead the sommelier insisted selecting our wine for us, which is good, however would select the expensive wines which is annoying. Overall I think for the price it was not worth it. More

We called in quite late on our way back to the hotel, they we very welcoming and we enjoyed our dink and coffee. It looked a great place to eat...

We arrived to la Grande Motte after regular French lunch hours and Le Yacht Club offered us a very good service with good food. The exterior tables have a beautiful view. Service was fast and friendly.

A chance discovery on a day out from Montpellier. Nice location and good service, with a reasonably priced lunch menu. The main course was described as a fritto misto - in other places this has meant heavily battered seafood, but here this was a nice... selection of fish and seafood, cooked plainly but well and served with rice and chips. We make a point of coming here virtually every time we come to the area. We generally arrive by boat which makes it even more special and whether we opt for the plat du jour or a la carte - every dish is prepared with... care, flair and attention to detail with a perfect balance of flavours. If you were not told, you wouldn't even notice this place. You might also think that as its called The Yacht Club that is would be members only and for sailors!! Not so! It's open to anyone and everyone and eating here you can enjoy superb elevated views of the marina too! We have eaten in many of the restaurants I the port and thus place is head and shoulders above the others. More

Pleasantly surprised, service is good so is the food. Great selection of Fusion food, a mixture of Italian, Japanese, European, Asian etc. A pleasantly nice dining experience, highly recommended, a must try!

Best food, best view in Moscow. absolutely faultless from arrival to finish. Best risotto i had for many years absolutely perfectly cooked. The view on Ukrainian hotel and the white house by night is amazing

Had to wait for the food for 1.5 hours and then another 20 minutes for the check. Finally called for the manager and he offered... a 10% discount as a compensation. Simply pathetic! The food is mediocre at best. Not bad per se, but one... would expect something better considering the prices. There are many places to eat in area that are much better. Avoid this one at all costs. Food is very expensive,very pretentious, doesn't worth that money. Portions are very small. We ordered ravioli and there were 4! Four raviolis! For almost 15 euros. Then we asked to bring us dessert menu but nothing, they didn't even bothered, so we payed and left... without dessert. Very poor service for that price. More

This is a very good restaurant. The food is really good, maybe the best in Moscow. The service is also good. The view from the restaurant is great. The prices are very high.

I often visit this restaurant and must say it’s one of the best in Moscow in terms of quality and service. Staff really try hard to make sure that you are happy and satisfied. Customer service is a huge problem in Moscow but Chaika sets... a great example for others in the industry! Food is delicious and the menu has lots of options for everyone! Visited this lovely restaurant with a friend of mine. It was relaxingly warm August evening - so the place on the river seemed like a good idea. We came quite early and the restaurant was not full. The hostesses kindly offered several places to sit... and we chose to sit on the sofas. We had some wine, which was good. We struggled a bit when deciding about the food as few options (scallops) were not available. Fish on ice on display did not look very fresh. To be honest it was an unusually hot August and it is probably understandable that some see food options were not available. However, we did manage to order something and sat waiting and looking onto the river. My long-legged friend struggled sitting at the low sofa and the manager noticed that, offering as a very good, proper table beside the open window. It was nice touch and I was very pleased by their polite observations and immediate reaction to solve the problem. Food was quite good and presentation was perfect. Perhaps I can something about the food, but 1 visit is not enough to criticize or make a definitive opinion. Overall, quality place, which of course, does not come cheap. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. More
